Introduction Due to the closure of the Ram Brewery and its associated offices, two sites have been made available for development. The first site includes the Ram Brewery site itself bounded by to the south, Armoury Way to the north, Ram Street to the east and the River Wandle to the west, and the adjoining site to the north west currently known as Capital Studios and Duval works. The River Wandle separates Ram Brewery site from the Capital Studios/Duval Works site. The second site, Cockpen House, is approximately 200m to the south west, in Buckhold Road. Wandsworth Plain Buckhold Road Armoury Way Ram Street Proposal details The application for the Ram Brewery and Capital Studios/Duval works site, reference number 2008/09 (Planning Application); 2008/0964 (Listed Building Consent) and 2008/0969 (Conservation Area Consent) proposes: The demolition of a number of buildings relating to the Brewery, Capital Studios and Duval Works. Retention of a number of historic buildings at the southern end of the site and the stables building to the north and their conversion into commercial and community uses. The erection of 8 new buildings including: 1) two residential towers of 2 and 42 storeys to the northern end of the Ram site with the retained stable block and new -storey building fronting Armoury Way. 2) two 2-9 storey buildings, consisting of four residential blocks above first/second floor, oriented North to South in the centre of the Ram site. ) 4/6-storey building to the South West corner of the Ram site. 4) 4-9 storey building on the Capital Studios/Duval Works site consisting of two residential blocks above first floor level. ) 9-16 storey building on Capital Studios/Duval Works site fronting Armoury Way. Provision of 81 residential units, of which 207 are affordable housing providing a mixture of 1-bedroom to 4-bedroom flats. Provision of environmental improvements to the River Wandle. 12,204 sq. m of shops, bars, cafés and restaurants; 2,226 sq m of office space; 2,67 sq m of community and leisure uses 47 sq m of showroom space and 909 sq m for a Micro-Brewery. Underground parking for 41 residents vehicles, 77 commercial/public vehicles and 1,008 cycles. Provision of two new public squares and a riverside walk as well as new bridges across the River Wandle connecting the two parts of the site. Cockpen House, Buckhold Road SW18 The application for Cockpen House, 20-0 Buckhold Road site, reference number 2008/0960, proposes: Proposal details Demolition of all the existing buildings. The erection of new buildings ranging from -storeys to 16- storeys plus basement level. The -storey element would be to the rear, stepping up to 10-storeys fronting Buckhold Road with the 7-storey element and 16-storey tower along the new pedestrian route from King George's Park to Hardwicks Square. Provision of 216 flats (ranging from studios to 4-bedroom units), of which 11 would be affordable. 1,010 sq m of commercial space including shops, community uses, offices, bars and restaurants. Underground parking for 78 vehicles and 206 cycles, plus 1 cycle spaces at ground level. Provision of roof gardens for residents, and public open space at southern end.
