LAND & FARM NEWS April 2013 A Publication of the Illinois Farm & Land Chapter of the REALTORS Land Institute Viva Las Vegas!! The National Land Conference in Las Vegas was a huge success! The Illinois Chapter was well represented by Ray Brownfield, Dave Klein, Dan Flanagan, Mac Boyd, Mark Goodwin, Winnie Stortzum, Gene Curtis, Luke Worrell, Dan Bock, Monte Van Kooten, Tim Kellog and Keith Waterman. Brent Gloy, PhD of Purdue provided an interesting assessment of the fundamentals of current farmland values including a detailed analysis of whether the fundamentals are likely to lead to higher values. The Cowboy Auction was a huge success, raising over $27,000 for RLI's education and membership programs. All new ALCs were inducted at the Awards and ALC Induction luncheon, including our own Luke Worrell. Attendees were certainly the big winners this year! 2013 Land Values Conference The annual Illinois Land Values conference was held March 13th-14th, 2013 at the Parke Hotel and Conference Center in Bloomington. Cash rents have increased in a similar manner, with cash rent on excellent quality farmland now averaging $447/acre for the highest third of rents.
