the private office Our business proposition Introducing The Private Office a single point of contact for in-depth, global expertise. The Private Office has been established by Savills to combine the highest standards of discretion and service with the network, resources and expertise that only global organisations can successfully provide. The rationale behind The Private Office is straightforward. As companies grow, they often lose the very simple qualities upon which they were originally built. In particular, large organisations invariably struggle to maintain the high standards of client service at which smaller, boutique operations naturally excel. From its foundation more than 150 years ago, Savills has grown from a single office into one of the world s leading providers of real estate services. Throughout this time, communication and service have been regarded as vital. The establishment of The Private Office therefore represents the next step in a continuing process to ensure that our clients remain the focal point of everything we do. By operating within Savills but remaining quite distinct from it, The Private Office is a unique concept within the property sector. By offering clients one highly experienced point of contact with a close knowledge of Savills global business, The Private Office ensures access to the very best of Savills extensive network and specialist expertise while guaranteeing absolute professionalism, discretion and privacy. Indeed, our reputation and success depends entirely upon our ability to fulfil this promise to every client, every time.
the private office Presenting tailored flexibility the only thing to do with good advice is to pass it on. it is never of use to oneself. Oscar Wilde An initial discussion with The Private Office enables clients, or their advisors, to detail their requirements and agree on how they wish their account to be managed. Once this is established, The Private Office offers three principal types of service. The Private Office personnel identify the most appropriate experts within Savills and provide all necessary introductions and instructions. This avoids the need for clients to repeat their requirements. The Private Office then monitors the progress of every enquiry to ensure that the type and quality of service being provided is as required. For greater confidentiality, clients can appoint Private Office personnel to act directly on their behalf. In these cases, and only if necessary, The Private Office may draw upon the expertise of other specialists within Savills. At all times, however, confidential client information is restricted to The Private Office, thereby guaranteeing total discretion. For assignments spanning different sectors, such as a portfolio evaluation, The Private Office can combine these services. This enables Private Office personnel to leverage the full extent of Savills expertise while retaining personal oversight at all times. In such cases, The Private Office co-ordinates Savills specialists, providing the necessary background information before bringing together their separate conclusions into a final recommendation that is balanced, comprehensive and mindful of the broader context. Naturally, each request is constantly monitored by Private Office personnel and our services refined or adapted as necessary in order to accommodate the specific requirements of individual clients.
the private office Understanding your needs knowledge is of two kinds. we know a subject ourselves or we know where we can find information on it. Samuel Johnson The Private Office understands fully the inherent tension that can sometimes exist between complete confidentiality and full disclosure by clients of their wider interests. Nevertheless, the increasing complexity and interdependence of different financial markets makes it impossible for sound advice to be given without knowledge of the broader context. The continuing upheaval in all global markets makes it even more important for advisors to be informed fully of their client s financial arrangements before making their recommendations. All Private Office personnel are highly experienced and extremely familiar with the sophisticated and interrelated nature of different fiscal and regulatory regimes. Our staff can locate the optimal solutions for any real estate requirement from within Savills network of experts and our own extensive, expanding and private database of contacts. This gives The Private Office the ability to leverage specialist expertise while ensuring complete client privacy. As a result, The Private Office can act as a partner for wealth management offices and other advisors, able to complement fully the services they provide.
the private office by far the best proof is experience. Sir Francis Bacon Leveraging global expertise Within the real estate sector, The Private Office is unique in its ability to combine the discreet and specialised client service offered by boutique organisations with the extensive presence, experience and expertise that only a global business can provide. This combination ensures that clients of The Private Office have confidential access to the very best advice offered throughout the Savills network. This includes over 500 offices and associates that span over 47 countries and employ more than 15,000 people. Savills personnel can offer clients more than 300 separate disciplines that cover the entire spectrum of real estate search, financing, investment, management and consultancy. Summaries of the services that we provide can be found within the leaflets at the back of this document. More than 150 years of real estate experience informs all service and advice provided by The Private Office and our colleagues within the Savills network. Taken together, this network presents clients with a formidable resource of unrivalled depth and breadth. Moreover, it is a resource with which all personnel within The Private Office are extremely familiar, ensuring that any client instruction or request is executed with the utmost speed and efficiency.
the private office wealth is the slave of a wise man, the master of a fool. Seneca Holding privileged information A number of clients prefer not to entrust their personal information to large organisations that operate a centralised database. The Private Office fully understands and respects the reasons behind such decisions and has procedures that guarantee complete client confidentiality. The Private Office operates its own, secure database which can be accessed only by authorised personnel and is entirely separate from any database used by colleagues within the Savills network. As a result, both advice given and information received by our staff remains securely within The Private Office at all times and cannot be divulged to third parties without the express permission of the client. Most investment portfolios nowadays require sophisticated tax structures. Whilst we do not pretend to advise on such matters, we regularly work in close harmony with those that do. Clients can therefore rest assured that any details which they provide regarding their personal financial arrangements are at all times respected and treated as privileged information.
Delivering formidable research Together with the expertise afforded by its global network of offices, Savills possesses a property research department that is second to none. Studies and reports that span every aspect of residential, rural and commercial property are produced by Savills analysts on a regular basis. This resource is, of course, available to clients of The Private Office. Some use it simply to stay abreast of recent developments in areas of interest; for others, it can inform any investment decisions or portfolio reallocations that they may be considering. The Private Office hosts exclusive client briefings that focus on many relevant issues; we can also advise clients whenever new and pertinent research becomes available. Alternatively, we can arrange for clients and their advisors to receive such research on a confidential basis immediately upon publication. For more particular enquiries, The Private Office can also commission specialised property research, analysis and sector performance summaries directly on behalf of our clients. in the business world the rear view mirror is always clearer than the windshield.
