He started working as a Structural Consultants for various Institutional, Multistoried and Industrial buildings since 1978. Mr. Umesh G. Lavingia is also a visiting as Professor of Structural engineering at S.I.D.; CEPT, G.I.C.E.A. (Gujarat Institute of Civil Engineers and Architects) has appointed him as Chairman of Structural Engineering Committee.
