4 th Street Revitalization A major streetscape renovation along 4 th street has been commenced construction. The improvements are designated for completion by the end of 2018 and will enhance the trade area surrounding the El Camino motel. The project is located north of Ortega Road, and is designed to beautify the historic area of 4 th street and attract more businesses and private investment to the area. Route 66 Route 66 was first laid out in 1926. Back then it followed the Old Pecos Trail from Santa Rosa through Dilia, Romeroville, and Pecos to Santa Fe. From Santa Fe it went over La Bajada Hill and down to Albuquerque.
