Home Buyers Plan The HBP exists because of CREA members. Used over 2 million times since its creation. Since 1992, the HBP accounted for more than: 303,045 homes sold in Québec 26% of all homes sold via Québec board MLS Systems used the HBP Over $50 billion in dollar volume for homes sold via Québec board MLS Systems* * assuming all of home sales in involving the HBP were traded via Cdn MLS Systems
Mortgage Financing Rules/ Prepayment No changes to minimum down payments through two rounds of rule changes due to CREA lobbying. Members in Québec asked for enhanced disclosure of mortgage prepayment penalties. CREA acted and the rules were changed in a manner that favours consumers.
Anti-Spam Legislation New legislation and regulations will impact REALTORS marketing efforts. Fines and penalties in the millions. Successfully amended by CREA at committee and regulatory stage. Lobbying actively for further regulatory changes. CREA is developing compliance material for REALTORS and brokerages for late 2012/early 2013.
