The attached Land Clearing Permit application is only for agricultural land clearing or exotic vegetation removal. This application should be submitted to the Growth Management Department.

PART 4: Application Checklist 1. Location map for the subject property, identifying the parcel, with driving directions or gate codes, as necessary 2. Land Clearing Plan Provide a plan view drawing indicating the following: Location and limits of areas to be cleared Location of on-site and adjacent preserve areas or wetlands, if applicable Location of perimeter native vegetation to be retained (not cleared) during construction Location of construction barricades (orange mesh safety fence) around all trees and vegetation not included in proposed clearing area Proposed type and location of erosion and sediment control structures (silt fence) Location of Permit Box 3. Non-refundable application processing fee. (Check payable to Martin County B.C.C) PART 5: Conditions of Approval After your application is complete, the following will be required prior to scheduling your Pre-Clearing Inspection: 1. Property corners shall be located by a licensed land surveyor and clearly marked in the field prior to inspection. 2. A permanent permit box shall be installed on site. Inspection results will be left on site. 3. Prior to the start of any proposed clearing activities, owner or contractor will contact the Environmental Division at (772) 288-5495 to schedule a Pre-Clearing Inspection. When the Pre-Clearing Inspection is approved, you must: 1. Obtain your approved Land Clearing Permit from the Environmental Division. 2. Post the approved Land Clearing Permit in a conspicuous place in the front of the premises before work is started. 3. Remove cleared vegetation from premises. No cleared vegetation will be allowed to accumulate on the premises, on neighboring properties, or in any streets or other right-of-ways. 4. Leave all construction barricades and silt fences in place during the clearing activities. 5. Remove barricades and silt fences only after the Environmental Division has conducted a final inspection of the site or has granted permission for removal. PART 6: Application Certification By signing this application form, I am applying, or I am applying on behalf of the property owner, for the authorization identified above, according to the supporting data and other incidental information filed with this application. I am familiar with the information contained in this application and represent that such information is true, complete and accurate. I understand this is an application and not a permit, and that commencement of clearing activities prior to approval is a violation of Martin County Code. I understand that this application, and any approval to clear vegetation issued pursuant thereto, does not relieve me of any obligation for obtaining any other required federal, state, water management district or local permit prior to commencement of clearing activities. I also certify that existing deed restrictions or covenants on this property will be adhered to and that, if this application is approved, all portions of the Martin County Code pertaining to the use of the above described property will be complied with. I further certify that I have read the instructions and fully understand the conditions set forth and will comply fully with them knowing that failure to comply or omission thereof may result in no action being taken on this application without refund of the application fee.
