Official Surveying and Mapping in Germany Official surveying and mapping belongs to the responsibilities of the 16 states, not to the federal level State Survey and Real Estate Cadastre in one authority, but different organisational structures All data provided by the official surveying and mapping authorities are geospatial reference data Data are available, but re-use is generally not free of charge

Official Surveying and Mapping in Germany The administrations belong to different ministries: Interior (8) Finance (1) Economy, Traffic (1) Land Development, Traffic (1) Environment (1) Rural Affairs (1) Urban Development (in the 3 city states)

Cadastre: Actual Situation In 14 federal states cadastral map and cadastral register are still seperated Hessia has implemented the new system ALKIS (Authoritative Real Estate Cadastre Information System) in 2010; Hamburg has implemented ALKIS as well. The other federal states will follow. The migration from the old cadastre into the new is expected 2011/2012.

Georeferenced house numbers and house outlines (1) 20.5 mill. geo-referenced house addresses derived from the real estate cadastre all over Germany Discussion initiated by data protection officers, because these data may become applicable to persons in combination with other data Pricing: 0.15 Euro* per house address (capping 100,000 ) *changes are planned

Possible use: Georeferenced house numbers and house outlines (2) House exact geocoding of addresses (market research, customer-, branch- or competitor addresses) Improvement of delivery administration (newspaper etc.) Integration in documentation of networks (telecommunication, supply of energy, Development of location-based-services of higher quality Integration in WebMapSevices navigation tools; Gazetteer services in the internet Combination with socio-demographic information for customer relationship

Georeferenced house numbers and house outlines 47.0 mill. house outlines derived from the real estate cadastre all over Germany Pricing: 0.30 Euro* per building (incl. house addresses), capping 200,000 Possible use: visual improvement of road maps (company internaly), in internet services or mobile apps Single house presentation especially for large scale maps, basis for exact routing Alternative use in combination with house addresses and house numbers Reference data for professional geoinformation systems documentation, facility management Data basis for 3D city modelling (LoD1, LoD2) * changes are planned
