photo: José F García Martín photo: José F García Martín BASF Building Rehabilitation Passeig Gracia 99 08008 Barcelona The project faces the rehabilitation and change of use of a building which sites on a chamfer of the Paseo de Gracia, the most emblematic via of Barcelona The former offices of BASF on Barcelona are transformed into a residential building with commercial space on the ground floor The most meaningful point of the project is the total substitution of the façade Ferrater designs a new plane façade that delete the former cantilevers The façade is thought as a several layers filter, 50% transparent-50% opaque, composed by fix panels of translucent marble, sliding panels of wooden slats and glazed bays The composition of the façade alternates the position of the different kinds of panels reaching a great formal dynamism, at the same time the different possibilities of the sliding panels allow optimal conditions of natural light into the dwellings photo: José F García Martín Project is not public!
