The 2015 Blanton Museum of Art Gala will honor University of Texas at Austin President Bill Powers, whose leadership has had a profound impact across campus and beyond. President Powers tireless commitment to the University has touched the lives of students, alumni, faculty, staff, countless individuals throughout Texas, and indeed, the world. He has long championed the humanities, including the visual arts, articulating to the wider public how they advance our understanding of the world and our place in it. He knows the value of art as part of a great education and that it contributes to a richer, more well-rounded civil life. Please join us on February 7 to pay tribute to Bill Powers and to celebrate the vital role the Blanton plays as a cultural gem of Texas.
