Rules and Regulations 1.1 Check-In - To confirm your reservation, kindly send your inquiry max. by 30.06.2017. Cancellation is granted free of charge for one week starting from reservation time. After that, each delay will add a fine of 10/day. - Housing Dept. is responsible for the Check-in process, Check in hours will be between 9:00-17:00, 7 days/week. In case of arrival after working hours, kindly inform the Housing Department a week in advance; a fee of 10 will be charged accordingly for late check-in. FM Department is eligible to extend the above deadline. 1.2. Check Out -The apartment should be handed-over to Housing Dept. in its initial state. For any damage or missing items, you will be charged repair/spare parts costs accordingly. -Check-out hours are throughout the whole week between 9:00-17:00. Kindly notify Housing Department week in advance. - Cleanliness of your unit before checkout is your sole responsibility, additional fees will be charged during handover incase of neglect or disregard a fee of 10 will be charged-keys are to be returned(handed over) back to Housing Dept. 1.3. Payment & Insurance - Contract will be signed with the Housing Dept. during Check-in. - Contract duration: 3 months, to be renewed. There is a refundable security deposit of one month to be paid at check-in, and in case of no fines or pending fees the amount will be refunded in full at check-out if the apartment is handed-over in its initial state. - Full payment in advance of one month rent during check-in. - Rent, water and energy consumption are to be paid during the first week of every month. Any delay after that water and energy supply will be cut-off, and a rent fine of 10/day will be applied. - Finance Dept. accept all currencies according to the Orascom Company rates. - Refundable insurance will be returned in Egyptian Pounds. 1.4. Inventory - All items of the apartment are listed in an inventory form that will be signed at your arrival. The contract, a key release form will be signed as well. -Kindly check list all copies of the Inventory for furnishings, fittings and equipment of your apartment. 1.5. Cleanliness -All residents are expected to maintain cleanliness and hygiene of their living unit. - It is solely TUBCG students responsibility regarding tidiness of the building, by kindly avoiding trash buildup in or out of the individual unit, rubbish blocking exit ways, laundry room and common living areas. - Cleanliness of your unit before checkout is your sole responsibility, additional fees will be charged during handover incase of neglect or disregard a fee of 10 will be charged.- Housekeeping can be requested through Housing Department for additional fees. 1.6. Damages -Any resident who maliciously or accidentally damages dorms owned property will be held responsible for the cost of the damage and/or the cost of the labor to restore or repair the property to its original condition except for normal wear and tear. -Common area damage charges that are not readily assigned to a particular individual, but will be charged to a group or floor of residents. Dorms furniture may not be removed from student units or common areas. -Any misuse, removal, defacement and/or tampering of dorms owned property or leased property or equipment or any property belonging to a community member or guest is prohibited. In that case, responsibility for damage or defacement in common areas (bathrooms, lounges or corridors, laundry etc.) cannot be determined, we will distribute the charges equally to all residents of the facility. -Destruction/misuse/theft of Property: Property damage is inappropriate and demonstrates a lack of respect for the community and the property of others. Housing department and TU Berlin Campus El Gouna carry no liability and are not responsible for such actions and incidents. 1.7. Maintenance and Repairs -The Housing Department will connect the resident to the maintenance team for interior and exterior maintenance and repairs as necessary, by sending e-mail to Mr. Ehab Sakout (ehab.sakout@elgouna.com) and Mr. Ashraf Leoz (ashraf.loez@elgouna.com). Please clarify on the e-mail the exact needed maintenance, the apartment number, building number and the Mobile number to be able for the maintenance team to call you. -Residents are prohibited from physically repairing damages to dorms property. 1.8. Locks - Installation of any door locks other than those provided by Housing Dept. is prohibited. Unauthorized duplication of keys is also prohibited. 1.9. Pets Animals are not allowed in campus housing at any time. 1.10. Quiet Hours -Quiet hours are for all community members, during which all must keep noise at a minimal level in housing facilities and surrounding areas up to 11:30PM. -There will be no parties at the accommodations. -There will be no illegal substances permitted in the accommodation. -Any activity which can be interpreted to endanger or harm oneself or any community member or guest is prohibited. 1.11. Shared Washing machine Each building is provided with a common laundry room equipped with washing machine to serve all residents. Any damages for the washing machine will be covered by all TUBCG students. 1.12. Furniture -Furniture may not be stored in balconies for storage. Residents are responsible for the condition of their unit and the furnishings provided for them by housing. -Residents must keep balconies clear of obstructions such as screens, bamboo or other coverings that block the view for safety personnel. 1.13. Room Transfers -To apply for a room transfer, please speak with Housing Dept. 1.14. License Period -The license period is for the entire academic year. Signed agreements after the beginning of the fall semester continue in effect until the close of the academic year. -A student residing in a residential space outside of the license period is subject to additional charges. 1.15. Cancellation -Cancellation notifications are only acceptable in the form of a signed letter or email to Housing Department received within seven days (cancellation period) of the date you accepted your offer of accommodation. -If cancellation is received after cancellation period and fail to take up the accommodation, there will be a rent fine of 10/day of delay -If offer of accommodation is accepted and the contract was not cancelled in accordance with the terms but choose to leave the accommodation before the end of the contract and you are still a registered student, you will be liable for the rent of a month in advance as well as non-refundable insurance 1.16 Safety - You are personally responsible for abiding by the safety policies pertaining to residential facilities. 1.17 Assignment and Subletting -Assigning this agreement or subletting the premises or any part thereof is not allowed. The facility is to be used only as a primary residence. - You may not conduct any activity for business or financial gain from a residential facility. 1.18 Keys (a) Lost or Stolen Keys. - All keys which are either lost or stolen must be immediately reported to the Administrative Assistant Manager & Housing Department during office hours and accordingly you will cover the costs of lock change or key replacement and administrative fees. (b) Terms & Conditions. - Keys must be returned in the final day of the semester to Housing Department. If a key is returned late after official working hours, a call-out will be charged as a late fee 10 1.19 Lost & Found Every student is solely responsible for his own valuables; for lost and found items, kindly deliver them at TUBCG Reception. 1.20 Conduct Sales, solicitation, and peddling are prohibited within University residential areas. 2. What to bring - Personal toiletries and hygiene products - Clothes hangers - Laundry basket/bag and laundry supplies (detergent, dryer sheets etc.) - Cleaning Supplies - Sewing Kit - Flashlight and batteries - Two sets of linens (blankets, sheets, pillows) Student Housing Services does not supply personal hygiene supplies for resident washrooms Please be informed that the students dorms are not hotel rooms; above list is a basic guideline of what may be needed.
