ABOUT OZ
At OZ, we are committed to the creation of excellence in design. As your partner, we interpret your vision, goals, and needs to create sustainable and livable buildings and environments. Founded in 1964, OZ integrates the broad experience, varied disciplines and diverse backgrounds of its professionals to encourage innovation across projects, practices and client cultures. We provide a full range of architectural, planning and interior design services to clients throughout the United States and internationally. Accumulating over the course of decades, the urban mosaic contains the full life cycle of growth, vibrancy and decline. Repurposing sites, infill projects and community-focused development all make valuable contributions to urban centers, adding new life and new opportunity to neighborhoods. As more people make a 24/7 commitment to urban life, cities and communities begin new chapters in adjusting to this shift. From innovative mixed-use developments to welcoming multi-family housing to places that draw people together, OZ designs for the best of today s urban living.
THE POWER OF TEAM
OZ establishes the strongest of foundations for your project by selecting those staff with the backgrounds, experience and technical abilities best suited to your needs. This core team is involved from start to finish. Team members not only take ownership in your project, they make an investment of pride as well.
CLIENTS OZ has been a wonderful team to work with on this project imaginative, practical, innovative, and cost conscious. Especially in this perilous economy, I want to express my enormous gratitude to you and your associates. I have enjoyed the opportunity to learn from you, and have been inspired by both your technical skills and by your ability to manage this complex, collaborative effort. SUSTAINABILITY MATERIALS Selecting building materials that are regional, recycled and rapidly renewable is a critical part of sustainable product usage. Office supply selection, space utilization and proper waste management are also factors. ATMOSPHERE Providing clean air for building occupants can be achieved by providing adequate ventilation and pollution source control. Clean air increases productivity and decreases absenteeism. WATER Limiting the use of potable water by plumbing systems and irrigation systems is part of sustainable water management. Operational uses such as cleaning must also be considered. ENERGY Decreasing energy use and carbon footprint can be achieved by increasing efficiency, using green or renewable energy sources and testing and maintaining building systems.
Environmental stewardship has long been a priority at OZ and responsible design is a critical part of our mission. OZ has established itself as a leader in sustainable development, having championed environmentally responsible designs for decades for clients such as the National Park Service and the U.S. Forest Service. OZ is a member of the U.S. Green Building Council, and has more than 50 LEED Accredited Professionals on staff. We practice environmental responsibility in our daily operations as well through our Sustainable Design Committee, championing the use of recycled paper for printing and minimizing paper use through electronic media. Sustainability is part of our firm culture.
