Kites Nest House Originally built in 1927 and then extended in 2006 by the present owners, Kites Nest House is a handsome and imposing detached, unlisted period house, built principally of local Greensand stone with mullion windows under a tiled roof. The house stands in an elevated position with wonderful and far-reaching views across the village towards the Blackmore Vale. The internal layout of the house enables the views to be appreciated from the maximum number of rooms. On the ground floor the front door opens into a centrally positioned hall with a tiled floor, a door leading out onto the terrace and a fine oak staircase rising to the galleried first floor landing. On one side of the hall are the elegant drawing room with open fireplace, sitting room, study and cloakroom. On the other side is the dining room, which has a further door leading through into the kitchen and an external door to a courtyard garden with access to wine store and boiler room. The kitchen/breakfast room is fitted with a 4 oven electric AGA and a granite topped central island with a Stoves electric fan oven and hob, small sink and integrated fridge and fitted cupboards underneath, also wall unit with stainless steel sink and plumbing for dishwasher.
