The Forties Swingin Big Band Era! As the U.S. entered World War II in 1941, here on the home front, ordinary people and famous celebrities did their part for the war effort. The USO lightened the somber wartime mood, bringing hope, music and laughter to the public and those in uniform. Join Minnesota Landmarks as we celebrate the 1940s at our fifth annual Once Upon a Time Gala, benefiting Landmark Center s free and lowcost community programs.
