Adam Smith Building : 5 0 Laptop input positions are situated throughout the theatre to enable breakout groups to do laptop presentations from various areas within the theatre. : depending upon the exact configuration of seating chosen, the lecture theatre now has a capacity in excess of 200 persons. This divides itself between 5 single-orientation tiered seats at the back of the auditorium and 68 interactive seats on the flat section at the front as shown in Figure. Fig. Seating arrangement The possibility for interaction and group working as noted above takes the form of data and power links being provided to each of the seating groups on the level floor area and swivel or flip seating arrangements, which allow students to turn round to face and work with those to either side or seated behind them. In addition groups of students can interact with the computer on the podium, displaying their work in the main screen for comment by others.
Adam Smith Building : 5 In general the theatre and surrounding corridor space is covered by Wifi for student link-up to the internet. The lecture theatre is set up for video projection onto two screens at the front, with direct links to the University server. Operation of the black-out blinds and the scene setting of lights is similarly operable from the control panel on the podium. Sliding white boards give a combination of conventional and digital information display. Figure 2. Arrangement of screens and whiteboards at front of lecture theatre.
