Description of the Organization University of Ljubljana is a public autonomous educational, scientific research and artistic institution with a very rich tradition. It is the oldest and the biggest university in Slovenia. It was established in 1919 and it encompasses 26 full faculty members. There is over 286 research groups with over 3000 registered researchers at the University of Ljubljana The Faculty of Architecture was established in 1920 as an integral part of the University of Ljubljana. The Faculty of architecture in Ljubljana is generally considered one of the best Central European schools of architecture. The faculty offers academic education and professional research in architecture, urbanism and design. Description of the your research interest Our team represents the research and academic entity within the Faculty of Architecture. Our research interests and experiences encompass topics related to: architecture/urban design, sustainability in built environment, cultural heritage, energy efficient buildings, assessment of the sustainability through indicators of the built environments experiences with education in virtual environments, urban and educational labs connecting architecture with ICT-supported instruments for achieving greater participation and involvement in spatial decision-making. - Smart and Sustainable Cities (old; H2020-SCC-2016-2017); - Developing a smart citizen- centred energy system, including Smart Cities and Communities (new; H2020-?-2018-2020) - Exploring and supporting citizen science (new; H2020-?-2018-2020) cross-cutting calls PROJECT IDEA: FROM PASSIVE HOUSE TO ACTIVE NEIGHBORHOOD - assesing the sustainability performance of neigbourhoods - Main goal: to establish a data-based system to support decisions in urban renewal Important objectives: to shift the focus from energy-centered concerns towards improving efficiency and rational management of other local resources (social, spatial, natural, energy, human etc.) to shift from building-centered concerns towards neighborhood-scaled efficiencies and capacities Expected results: flexible and modular system of criteria and indicators that capture sustainability performance at the neighborhood level solid data-driven foundation for monitoring, comparison, further actions and interventions 5

- Smart and Sustainable Cities (old; H2020-SCC-2016-2017); - Developing a smart citizen- centred energy system, including Smart Cities and Communities (new; H2020-?-2018-2020) - Exploring and supporting citizen science (new; H2020-?-2018-2020) cross-cutting calls PROJECT IDEA: FROM PASSIVE HOUSE TO ACTIVE NEIGHBORHOOD - assesing the sustainability performance of neigbourhoods - The project shall be simultaneously followed by two horizontal objectives that refer to: examination of accessibility, availability of the existing indicators/data and the possibility of using ICT-solutions for the purpose of gathering information from the neighbourhoods inhabitants e.g. crowdsourcing; the potential adjustment of the system of indicators for the purpose of activating/ informing/ educating a group and individuals about the efficiency of their neighbourhoods, key assessment parameters and courses of actions. 6
