Cell and Gene Therapy in Transplantation Immunology and Immunogenetics 25. 27. September 2014, Frankfurt am Main Johann Wolfgang Goethe Universität Campus Westend A joint Conference of the 22nd Annual Meeting of the German Society for Immunogenetics (DGI) and Symposium of the LOEWE Center for Cell and Gene Therapy Frankfurt (CGT) Invitation Dear colleagues and friends, On behave of the local organising committee, it is our pleasure to invite you to Frankfurt for the 22 nd Meeting of the German Society for Immunogenetics and Loewe Symposium for Gene Therapy. The theme for this conference is Cell and Gene Therapy in Transplantation Immunology and Immunogenetics. Transplantation immunology has shown in the last decades to be of essential importance to cure malignant hematologic diseases, correct inborn errors and to give new life perspectives for those patients suffering from organ failure. Translational research in understanding humoral and cellular effector mechanism in adaptive and naive immune responses is opening new perspectives in the treatment of a broad spectrum of diseases. The meeting will touch these aspects and will offer the possibility for young scientists to discuss topics with experts in the field. We will have plenary sessions on innate immunity, new trends in stem cell transplantation, gene silencing and cell induction, translational aspects in cells to cure, and new perspectives in organ transplantation. The meeting includes also several educational sessions, to teach and inspire young academics, technicians and students for this interesting field. 2
