Rather, teaching is, in many ways, a distinct profession unto itself as well as an enormously important part of the architecture profession. The skill sets and the experience required for both architecture and teaching are often complementary, but often quite different. Just because you do something well does not mean that you can teach it well--which isn't to say that you shouldn't try. And for anyone who has ever had a truly great teacher in your life, you know that teaching is doing. Teaching in Architecture is entirely different when compared to other subjects, which needs different approach, methodology and process. I tried to make effective utilization of the experience gained at my post graduation level in one of the best schools in the world and the best in Asia which had given me, a great exposure in the field of Architecture and Planning. In addition to this my experience and exposure as Associate Professor in Eritrean Institute of Technology, Asmara, Eritrea, North East Africa, under UNDP (United Nations Development programme) had given me a different direction and perspective in teaching at International level. My experience and exposure in teaching and enormous practical projects made me confident, efficient, and yes definitely experimental in teaching varied subjects. The initial stage of teaching involves preparation of lesson plans for the whole semester/year. CV of Mr. Srinivas Daketi Page 3 of 10

ADDITIONAL /ADMINISTRATIVE DUTIES The career path of a faculty member is a balancing act between teaching (usually a studio and lecture course in each semester); preparation (a basic thumb rule is four hours of preparation for every one hour of lecture); advising and mentoring (depending on where we teach, the time spent can be as high as 5 hours a week for dedicated office hours); research (it's not enough just to design and construct buildings, if this was my focus, but I must write, reflect and react about all these in a balanced way in each semester); and providing service to the university, local community, and the profession (committees, community boards, professional organization boards, etc.) Another part of teaching includes annual peer reviews, documentation of activities/research, the writing of papers and books for conferences, and publication."
