The Taylor Book says that the son of John and Margaret was a "James Matthew". From the Death Certificate of his son, Robert Craig, James middle name was Madison. The fact that James Madison was the son of John and Margaret is documented from a newpaper article describing his moving with his father to Lawrence County Alabama. Article was July 10, 1890, Moulton Advertiser. James was also recorded as a member of the Old Prospect Church. The article said that he marries Susan a resident of Limestone County after a short courtship and moved to Lawrence County Alabama. The Robert C. Montgomery Bible (in possession of John R. Montgomery) and the reference to the James M. Montgomery Bible (location unknown) as referenced by Taylor and the Robert Craig Montgomery death certificate establish this relationship.
