Seller Insight Lychgate is a very handsome family home that was built by the current owner in 2010 and which occupies an enviable location within the much sought after village of Sutton Valance. It was really a case of being in the right place at the right time that resulted in us having this beautiful home built, says Bradley. It was an amazing plot just a stroll away from the centre of the village, and it enjoys the most spectacular views to the rear. I was heavily involved in both the design and build of the property, and I was very keen that from the outside it should fit effortlessly within these lovely surroundings, but that internally it should have a more open and contemporary look and feel that would be perfect for modern family living. I d describe the accommodation as very flexible. We have five generously proportioned bedrooms on the first floor and two further rooms in the attic, which we currently use as a home cinema and a playroom, but they too would make lovely bedrooms. Downstairs we have created a very large, open-plan kitchen, dining and living space, and then we also have both a separate living room, which is very elegant, and a formal dining room. All in all it s a house that is comfortable and spacious, and it s extremely conducive to entertaining. The open-plan space, the living room and the conservatory all have doors that open onto a very large patio terrace, so the garden essentially becomes an extension of the living space when the weather is warm, says Bradley. The largest portion of the garden is laid to lawn, so it s easy to maintain, but as well as the patio, we also have a really nice decked seating area. We can sit out there and on a clear day we can see as far as the wind farm at Camber Sands; the views are just immense. The hub of the home is definitely the open-plan kitchen, dining and living room, says Bradley. Everything goes on in there. We cook, eat, relax and entertain in that lovely big space and the bi-fold doors not only create an almost seamless connection with the garden but they also frame the magnificent views. Sutton Valence is a lovely place to live and a very traditional village with a couple of nice pubs, a church and a number of good schools, says Bradley. It s also a very convenient place to live. Maidstone is only a few minutes away by car, and we have excellent road and rail links. This house is all about the views and has been designed to make the very most of them, says Bradley.
