Its use is exclusively reserved for the winners of the competition. The Red Dot Award: Product Design, which origins date back to 1954, is now one of the world s largest and most distinguished design competitions. 2015 winner 2015 Only the most outstanding products of each category receive the highest distinction in the competition: the Red Dot: Best of the Best. In 2014, only 1.5% of all entries were honoured with this award. The Red Dot is the prestigious distinction for high design quality. 10 Red Dot Award: Product Design 2015 Red Dot Award: Product Design 2015 11 The Red Dot jury At the heart of the Red Dot Award: Product Design is its jury. With their specialist knowledge, some 40 recognised experts from around the world guarantee the high quality standards and thus the value of the Red Dot seal. While the set-up of the jury changes annually, one element remains the same: all members commit to the Code of Honour, which states that jurors cannot participate in the adjudication of products they were involved in in any way. In addition, no juror can be employed by an industrial manufacturing company. This prevents conflicts of interest and ensures the highest possible degree of fairness and neutrality. Among all the competitions on design, I do not have any hesitation to say that the Red Dot Design Award is the best contest in the world in two perspectives: One is that it is based on the most fair competition in terms of the composition of jury and the way of evaluation. The other is that the winners of the Red Dot Award are the real proof of success in the markets. They adjudicate the actual products, which makes it absolutely necessary for entrants to submit functioning samples. On 29 June 2015, they will receive the recognition of the international design scene on the stage of the Aalto- Theater, the Essen Opera House, and with the Red Dot Trophy the well-deserved reward for their top class product designs. Economic success is based on good design and its communication. Receiving a distinction at the Red Dot Award confirms the quality of a product and communicates its success in a contemporary way, thus setting it apart from the masses. 14 Red Dot Award: Product Design 2015 Red Dot Award: Product Design 2015 15 Designers Night After the awards ceremony the approximately 1,200 international guests, among them design stars, CEOs and decision makers in marketing as well as representatives of international media, will meet at the Designers Night at the Red Dot Design Museum in Essen, Germany, where the Red Dot award-winners are celebrated into the small hours. The Aftershow Party is also the vernissage of the exclusive exhibition of winners. Celebrating in the midst of award-winning design the Designers Night is the perfect mix of vernissage and party. A highlight of the awards ceremony: The Red Dot: Design Team of the Year with the challenge cup Radius on stage at the Aalto-Theater.
16 Red Dot Award: Product Design 2015 Registration for the Red Dot Award Eligibility to participate Manufacturers and designers from around the world, whose products are being fabricated in an industrial production process, are invited to participate in the Red Dot Award: Product Design 2015. The products must have been launched on the market after 1 January 2013 and need to go into production before 1 July 2015. Non-industrial unique items are barred from participating in the Red Dot Award: Product Design. Every participant can submit as many products as they want to.
