Thank You Motivate would like to extend a big thank you to our sponsors and guests, without whom this event would not have been possible. We hope you enjoyed celebrating design excellence with us and we look forward to working with you again, on yet another exciting identity Design Awards programme. Motivate Events Team 2
You re Invited More than 350 guests celebrated as 15 awards were presented throughout the evening. 3
The Venue Taking an existing world-renowned restaurant in Paris to Dubai involved having the design and concept adapted and developed, all the while trying not to compromise its heart and soul. This was successfully achieved. The Art Gallery aspect of La Cantine du Faubourg, a perfect setting for identity Design Awards, is where clients could easily feel comfortable spending the day or the evening. One of the overriding benefits of the Jumeirah Emirates Towers location is the view and so this was an essential backdrop to the venue, giving a number of different vistas and glimpses from wherever the visitor is sitting. 4

The prestigious 2017 Jury includes: Marco Piva, Roan Nguyen, Richard Stevens, and Chi Wing Lo. The judges sought to identify the best examples of pure, precise, clean and dynamic contemporary designs in each category. In short: designs that go beyond the usual and make bold, brave yet functional statements. 23

Toan Nguyen has received numerous awards for his designs, including Red Dot Design Award, Best of Neocon Award, Good Design Award, ISH Design Plus Award, the Archiproducts Design Awards first prize and recently, the Interior Design s HiP Award 25
The Judges Richard Stevens London-based Richard Stevens, Founder and Creative Director of forpeople, is leading a powerful design revolution. Stevens caught the attention of the brand after years of working for the world s top-tier companies, focusing on the quality of his work rather than on becoming a star designer. The result has been projects for British Airways, Alfred Dunhill, The Boeing Company, BMW, The Coca-Cola Company, Cunard, Ford Motor Company, Fujitsu, Intercontinental Hotels Group, Panasonic, Tata and Yamaha and one of his proudest achievements: Herman Miller. As Creative Director of British Airways, he has helped secure the airline the position of No.1 UK Superbrand for the past three years running. The company s design philosophy signals its commitment to larger principles regarding quality of life and elevating the standard of living. His beliefs about devotion to a people-first design made the MENA region s projects particularly impressive. 26
The Judges Chi Wing Lo Encompassing the fields of architecture, sculpture, interior and furniture design, Chi Wing Lo s prolific output has long been recognized, in and beyond the eminent cycle of contemporary Italian design, for his evocativeness in thought, gracefulness in form and meticulousness in every detail.
