The Original awards program begin in 1974 named the MAME Awards Major Achievement in Marketing Excellence and was the first in the nation to recognize the sales, marketing and design efforts of the home building industry. Renamed in 2009 to The SoCalAwards as the Sales & Marketing Councils of the region joined forces to become the Greater SMC of Southern California.
