Clarence Gagnon Researched by Diane Wolford Sheppard Clarence Gagnon was born in Saint-Rose, near Montréal, on 8 November 1881. He studied at the Art Association of Montréal in 1897. He studied in Paris in 1904 1905 and painted in France and Italy before returning to Canada in 1909. Gagnon lived in Baie-St-Paul and travelled throughout the Laurentians. He became a member of the Royal Canadian Academy of Arts in 1922. He returned to Europe on several occasions and lived there from 1924 1936. He died 5 January 1942.
