The Chinese Bunkhouse: The Chinese Bunkhouse is one of the last surviving bunkhouses on the Pacific Northwest Coast. The building was originally located in Knight Inlet and was relocated to Britannia Shipyards by BC Packers. This bunkhouse was once home to 75-100 Chinese cannery workers who were employed through Chinese contractors. The ground floor is available for rentals; the upper floor features exhibit space which is closed for the duration of a rental. The rental space includes a small kitchen (equipped with a fridge, a convection microwave, sink and counter space) and two washrooms. 4033445 1 of 9
Capacity: The capacity of the Chinese Bunkhouse is 100 standing, 100 seated in rows or 65 seated at tables. Due to the BC Fire Code, these occupancy limits must be strictly followed. Availability: Month: May-Sept Oct-April Time available: Mon-Sun: after 5pm Mon-Fri anytime Sat-Sun: after 5pm Due to City of Richmond noise by-laws, rentals must be finished by 10:30pm, Sunday to Thursday, and 11:30pm Friday and Saturday. Music must be turned off by 11:00pm. - Bookings for the Chinese Bunkhouse can be made up to one year in advance. Rental Fees (GST will be added to all fees): - The rental fee is $500.00 for up to 4 hours, and $100.00 for each additional hour (please note this is inclusive of delivery, set up and take down time). Any deliveries that are outside of this time must be done from 3:00pm-5:00pm the previous day and picked up from 10:00am-12:00pm the following day (this is dependent on other programs and rentals booked). There will be a charge of $70.00 for each of these additional booking times. - Rentals occurring outside of regular business hours (Monday-Friday, 8:00am-5:00pm) are subject to an additional fee of $35.00 per hour (4 hour minimum) for staffing costs. - Rentals using music will be subject to additional SOCAN fees ($20.56 for music, $41.13 for music and dancing). - A liquor license must be obtained if serving alcohol. - Liability insurance of $2,000,000, including Host Liquor Liability insurance bust be obtained if serving alcohol. If rented items are being dropped off the day before the event, or picked up the day after, the insurance needs to extend to the day before/after. Payment - Upon booking, a 50% deposit and $500 damage deposit must be paid to secure your rental. - The payment balance is due 30 days prior to your rental. - If the event is cancelled more than 30 days before your rental, your deposit will be returned. - If the event is cancelled less than 30 days before, your deposit will not be returned. 4033445 2 of 9
Décor: - Exhibits and artifacts along the walls of the Chinese Bunkhouse are permanent installations and cannot be removed, folded or have anything attached. Tables, chairs or other items must not be leaned up against the exhibits. The renter is not permitted to move exhibits or handle artifacts. - Renters are welcome to bring streamers, tulle, string lights, etc. for added décor, however there is to be no use of nails, screws, mac tac or tape to affix objects within this historic building. - Simple string lighting may be gently draped across/through ceiling beams, but professional lighting equipment must be approved by the Visitor Services Coordinator and curatorial staff prior to the event and may require a detailed lighting plan. - No open flame is permitted. Flameless candles are permitted. - No bubbles, glitter, confetti or real flower petals are permitted. Fake flower petals are permitted but must be swept up afterwards. - As this is an exhibit space, exhibits and the location of displays are subject to change without notice and may change monthly. 4033445 3 of 9

Chinese Bunkhouse - Additional Information: Your rental fee for the Chinese Bunkhouse includes the following: - Up to 14 rectangular tables (6 x 2 ½ feet) and up to 100 chairs*. These are to be set up and taken down by the renter. - Projector and projection screen with speakers (meeting-level sound). Instructions are posted in the kitchen, along with the remote control and cords to borrow. Please ensure you follow the user instructions and return all items at the end of the rental. - Garbage and recycling receptacles. Renters are expected to sweep floors, bag garbage and clean up any spills including food, drink and guest accidents. Staff will transport garbage to the site bin. No food, drink or spill residue can be left in the building overnight. - Non-exclusive parking use. Parking is prohibited on grass or wooden boardwalk. - 1 staff member to supervise safety and security of the exhibits and the building. This staff person will also review the building upon the renter s initial arrival, and an end of the night clean up checklist with the renter prior to leaving the site - The fire lane can be used for supply drop off and pick up. All vehicles must re-park as soon as possible and not left during the rental at this location. - No smoking in the park guests should be told to smoke on the road or parking areas only. *Any additional supplies needed such as additional tables/chairs, chair coverings, linens, glassware, tableware, microphones, lighting or DJ quality speakers are the responsibility of the renters, not the site. Please ensure all deliveries and pick ups are within your rental timeframe and removed at the end of the rental. 4033445 5 of 9
The Seine Net Loft The Seine Net Loft was originally constructed by the Anglo British Columbia Packing Company to provide storage for large commercial fishing nets. Completed in 1955 and restored in 2013, the Seine Net Loft has over 13,000 square feet of flexible exhibit, program and event space. - The Seine Net Loft is not climate controlled; guests must dress for the weather. - The Seine Net Loft has no kitchen or washroom facilities. Washrooms are located in the park within the Murakami Complex (see map) Capacity: The capacity of the Seine Net Loft is 300 people standing and 200 seated at tables. Due to the BC Fire Code, these occupancy limits must be strictly followed. Availability: - The Seine Net Loft is available daily, depending on programs, exhibits, special events and previous bookings. 4033445 6 of 9
- Due to City of Richmond noise by-laws, rentals must be finished by 10:30pm, 7 days a week. At these times, all music must be turned off, and the bar and all outside doors must be closed. All clean up needs to be complete and everyone needs to exit the building by 11:30pm. Guests are asked to respect our neighbours. - Bookings for the Seine Net Loft can be made up to one year in advance. Bookings are taken by phone (604-718-8037) no earlier than 8:15am. Rental Fees (GST will be added to all fees): - The rental fee is $ 2,500.00 for a daily rental (10:00am-10:30pm). This includes one hour of take down from 10:30-11:30pm. This time should also include any set up and/or rental drop off and pick up time. Any deliveries that are outside of this time must be done from 3:00pm-5:00pm the previous day and picked up from 10:00am-12:00pm the following day (this is dependent on other programs and rentals booked). There will be a charge of $70 for each of these additional booking times. - The use of the Murakami Boatworks is subject to an additional fee of $50 per hour. - Rentals using music will be subject to additional SOCAN fees ($29.56 for music, $59.17 for music and dancing). - A liquor license must be obtained if serving alcohol. - Liability insurance of $2,000,000, (including Host Liquor Liability if serving alcohol) must be obtained. If rented items are being dropped off the day before the event, or picked up the day after, the insurance needs to extend to the day before/after. These artifacts may not be moved and may not be altered or used as tabletop surfaces. - Renters are welcome to bring streamers, tulle, string lights, etc. for added décor, however there is to be no use of nails, screws, mac tac or tape to affix objects within this historic building. - Simple string lighting may be hung from permanent hooks that have been installed on several posts, but professional lighting equipment must be approved by the Visitor Services Coordinator and curatorial staff prior to the event and may require a detailed lighting plan. 4033445 7 of 9

Seine Net Loft - Additional Information: Your rental fee of the Seine Net Loft includes the following: - Garbage and recycling receptacles. Renters are expected to sweep floors, bag garbage and clean up any spills including food, drink and guest accidents. Staff will transport garbage to the site bin. No food, drink or spill residue can be left in the building overnight. - 24 round tables (5 feet diameter), 4 rectangular tables (8 feet in length) and 200 deluxe white plastic folding chairs*. These are to be set up and taken down by the renter. - Non exclusive parking use. Parking is prohibited on grass or wooden boardwalk. - There is no access down the ramps to the floats on the water during rentals. - 1 to 2 staff (depending on size of rental) to supervise safety and security of the exhibits, the building, and place signs for guests to locate washrooms. This staff person will also review the building upon the renter s initial arrival, and an end-of-the-night clean up checklist with the renter. - No smoking in the park guests should be told to smoke on the road or parking areas only. *Any other supplies needed such as additional tables/chairs, chair coverings, linens, glassware, tableware, projectors, screens, microphones, lighting or DJ quality speakers are not supplied by the site.
