Page 3 Monday 31.07.17 - Georgene McNeil Manager, Dementia and Mental Health Support Below is her Bio. I joined Anglican Retirement Villages (now Anglicare) two and a half years ago after spending almost 10 years as an educator and person-centred care consultant/auditor for Alzheimer s Australia (NSW), a job which took me to just about every outback town and city in NSW and over 200 residential care villages across Australia. I have developed and delivered dementia training materials for nearly all of the larger and some smaller aged care providers. I started my career as a teacher, spending two years as a volunteer in Papua New Guinea. I decided on a change to Psychology in the late 80 s in preparation for bringing up teenagers. Since then, I have worked alongside some of the greatest researchers in the Dementia field through my involvement in a number of dementia research studies with the University of Sydney, the University of Technology, Sydney and Queensland, and La Trobe University in Melbourne. Amongst my qualifications, I have an Honours Degree in Psychology and a Diploma of Education. I am currently the Manager of the Dementia and Mental Health Support Service and have a small team that undertakes clinical and person-centred reviews of persons living with dementia who have complex care needs. Within the wider organisation, I have a strategic role which guides the delivery of dementia care and education of staff. Page 4 Last Monday Festival) Meeting 24.07.17 First OBF (Orange Blossom Minutes of OBF Meeting held Monday 24 July at Allegro Function Centre Meeting held in lieu of meeting on Tuesday 25 July at Rappy s Dennis requested all areas to have team leaders. Victoria has done a risk assessment and evacuation plan and submitted to the council. There are numerous WH&S conditions that must be carried out on the day. Victoria will submit to Dennis who will forward to all team leaders. Paul has been in contact with the council and LAC and the street parade is not a certainty at this stage. It was agreed that we would wait until the end of next week before Paul and Dennis would take the matter up with Robyn Preston. TEAM LEADERS STALLS Tony As Tony has already sent the initial paperwork out to stallholders, he will lead the team and await instructions from Dennis regarding WH&S issues to forward to stall holders. PLANTS Tony Tony has all the contacts so will continue to run the plant stall. He will need assistance to pick up the plants with help from Dean Fomiatti. He will need help setting up on the day Karo, Kay and Carmel will assist. RIDES - Gil Tony will pass all Camelot paperwork over to Gil. Graham Webb will assist on the day. Prices and float to be arranged. POWER - Peter Bray He will be the consultant for all electrical issues prior to the day and ensure there are sufficient AMPS available for stalls. STREET MARSHALLING/ROAD CLOSURES - Peter Panich Street controllers can be arranged through Victoria if Keith Baker is still away. Bus company and emergency personnel already informed of road closures. STAGE ENTERTAINMENT Dennis Forms already sent out to performers, bands etc. Burt Stutt is under control for the Church service and Loz is on track for the sound production.
Page 5 STAGE ANNOUNCEMENTS Rob ORANGE STALL Nikki David and Marie Beck will assist. They will need as many oranges as people can donate, they can be left at the Beck s house 1 week prior to OBF. DEVONSHIRE TEA STALL Victoria Paul has a contact for scones and will send to Victoria. Lyn Panich and Vikki Rapp to be asked to assist on the day. Victoria will supply urns and microwave. BBQ Mike Mike will ask Jim, Chris and Les to assist. ADVERTISING Dennis will ask Chris to put up on webpage and our Facebook page. Ask Loz if his wife can put on North Shore Mums site Kathy to put on Hills District Mums site. Victoria will do the flyer to be sent to residents. Dennis will notify schools in area. Details to be sent to Cherelyn for insertion in Hills District Times. SPONORSHIP Peter B Dennis will send him email addresses of contacts. Sponsorship will be $400 this year as signs are of good quality double sided silk. Page 7 Books for PNG School Libraries On Saturday last week Patrik and I drove to DIK (Donation In Kind) in Minchinbury and picked up books from Graham Morphett who drove up from Wollongong. On Thursday last week, at 6:30pm, I went to the Scout Hall in Galston and met the Dural Cubs and Joeys. They donated boxes of books which they collected as their international project.

Karo John Benyon needs help to set up for the Kindy Fete on Saturday 4 th of August. Membership dues are now due. For all members it is $130. Joke How many lawyers does it take to change a light bulb? Sixty-five: 42 to sue the power company for failing to prevent the surge that took the bulb out in the first place, 14 to sue the electrician who wired the house, and 9 to sue the bulb manufacturer.
