Page 3 Monday 31.07.17 - Georgene McNeil Manager, Dementia and Mental Health Support Below is her Bio. I joined Anglican Retirement Villages (now Anglicare) two and a half years ago after spending almost 10 years as an educator and person-centred care consultant/auditor for Alzheimer s Australia (NSW), a job which took me to just about every outback town and city in NSW and over 200 residential care villages across Australia. I have developed and delivered dementia training materials for nearly all of the larger and some smaller aged care providers. I started my career as a teacher, spending two years as a volunteer in Papua New Guinea. I decided on a change to Psychology in the late 80 s in preparation for bringing up teenagers. Since then, I have worked alongside some of the greatest researchers in the Dementia field through my involvement in a number of dementia research studies with the University of Sydney, the University of Technology, Sydney and Queensland, and La Trobe University in Melbourne. Amongst my qualifications, I have an Honours Degree in Psychology and a Diploma of Education. I am currently the Manager of the Dementia and Mental Health Support Service and have a small team that undertakes clinical and person-centred reviews of persons living with dementia who have complex care needs. Within the wider organisation, I have a strategic role which guides the delivery of dementia care and education of staff. Georgene McNeil Manager, Dementia and Mental Health Support Fellowship: Peter Bray Chairman: Dennis van Someren Vote of Thanks: Lesley Freeman Partners, Family and friends are welcome. Please do not forget to ring Lucy Cali on phone 9654-1880 if you are bringing visitors.
