Second Announcement Trends in Natural Product Research - PSE Young Scientists s Meeting Lille Phytochemical Society of Europe (PSE) Natural Products in Health, Agro-Food and Cosmetics Polytech Lille, Villeneuve d Ascq, France Wednesday 28 June Saturday 1 July 2017 http://www.psemeetinglille2017.com On behalf of the Phytochemical Society of Europe and the Charles Viollette Research Institute, the Organizing and Scientific Committees are delighted to welcome you at the Young Scientists Meeting entitled Natural Products in Health, Agro-Food and Cosmetics. The symposium will take place at the dynamic university campus of Villeneuve d Ascq (Polytech Lille), nearby Lille downtown. Lille is located in the heart of the French Flanders, with a rich history and a vibrant culture. This conference is a fantastic opportunity for all scientists, young and experienced, working in phytochemistry with applications in various areas (Health, Agro-Food and Cosmetics), to showcase their research findings in the form of keynote talks, short s and posters. The scientific program also includes plenary s (30 min) of eminent researchers in the field. Lille is located within the French Flanders, well-known for cultivation of hops and chicory. Lille is also the capital of the Hauts-de-France region, known for the quality of its hospitality and its young and dynamic population. The city is renowned for its rich cultural life, with many cultural events such as Lille 3000 based on the topics of modernity and the cultures of the world. Lille and Villeneuve d'ascq host numerous museums, in particular focused on classic and modern art, and many concert halls. These cities are connected by an efficient public transport network (subway, bus, train, airport). Their access is really easy by plane (Lesquin airport) and by train: 40 minutes from Brussels midi train station, 50 minutes from Paris airport (Roissy-Charles de Gaulle), 1h from Paris train station (gare du Nord), 1h20 from London Saint Pancras, 2h40 from Cologne and from Amsterdam train stations. Polytech Lille belongs to the University of Lille. This School of engineering is located on a vast 110-hectare campus in the centre of a large scientific and technical pole in Villeneuve d Ascq. This town combines technologies and ecology. Villeneuve d Ascq consists of 6 200 ha of natural areas including a group of three lakes, a preserved area of 120 ha which hosts 220 different bird species and the regional conservatory orchard with more than 1300 old varieties of fruit trees. For cancelling before April 30 th 2017, 50% of the fee will be refunded. After April 30 th 2017, the conference fee is not refunded. PSE travel bursaries The PSE Committee awards a number of travel bursaries to assist young researchers to attend PSEsponsored conferences. Successful candidates are presented with a certificate confirming the award during the conference and an award of usually 250. Candidates must register and pay the registration fees before the deadline set by the organizers (April 15 th 2017). Candidates should send the application documents in electronic form to the Membership Secretary of the PSE as early as possible.
