Conference Features Keynote Speaker Wilbur L. Ross Jr. The, is pleased to announce that Wilbur L. Ross Jr. will deliver the Keynote Address at the Institute s Ninth Annual International Insolvency Conference at Columbia University in on June 17 and 18, 2009. Mr. Ross Keynote Address will focus on the fallout from the global credit crisis and the opportunities in the recovery from it. Mr. Ross (dubbed The King of Bankruptcy by Fortune magazine) is a legend in restructurings and reorganizations in the United States and abroad. Mr. Ross has become well known for restructuring failed companies in a wide variety of industries including, in particular, steel, coal, telecommunications, textiles and auto parts manufacturing. He has recently begun to take positions in the financial services area as well. Mr. Ross founded both the International Coal Group and the International Steel Group which have had a profound effect on the restructuring of both the entire United States coal industry and the entire United States steel industry, not just individual companies. Apart from his recent acquisitions in the financial services area, Mr. Ross has recently made a major investment in India. He will bring a unique and world-leading perspective on the global credit crisis to the Institute s Annual Conference in as one of the world s most successful participants in the fine art of rehabilitating financially troubled enterprises across national boundaries. Mr. Ross served under United States President Bill Clinton on the Board of the United States Russia Investment Fund and served as Privatization Advisor to City Mayor Rudy Giuliani.
