Chateau De Jaques Region: Champagne Guide Price: 3,948 per week Sleeps: 12-32 Image not readable or empty typo3conf/ext/olivers_travels/resources/public/img/pdf-l Overview Chateau de Jaques is a beautiful 17th Century Monument Historique set in 10 hectares of lovely gardens and wooded grounds with its own private chapel. Nestled in the stunning Champagne region, it is also conveniently located only 1 and half hour by train from Paris. In addition, the closest village and restaurants are within a walking distance from the estate. The gardens were designed by Le Notre, who was a famous garden architect in his day and well known for the gardens he created at Versailles. The chateau has had an interesting past: it was visited by Charles II whilst he was in exile and occupied by the Germans during World War II. Now it has been restored, sympathetically decorated and furnished using traditional colours and antiques. There are a lot of open fireplaces to relax in front of in winter and some pretty spots in the grounds where you can relax away sunny afternoons. For the more active, there is a small beach on the Marne River, just 200 yards or so away, tennis in the village, plenty of lovely walks and cycle paths to explore and horse riding close by. The resident owners are on hand to give you any information about the area or to prepare breakfasts or other meals if you wish. The guests see as much or as little of the owners as they choose as they have a completely private wing of the chateau with no shared facilities. The whole property can sleep groups of up to 12, 23 and 32 in the chateau, its annex tower and gatehouse. Weddings and special events can also be organized at Chateau de Jaques when booking the entire estate. Good news! For a little extra, this property is available as a Vill otel Yey! Wait what is that? It s the perfect combo of the privacy of your own personal villa, with all the luxury and convenience of a hotel. What s included? Breakfast, cleaning, welcome drinks and hamper, plus more! Check the Extras tab for all the details. Page 1
