Professional skills training Lead Leading the way on new initiatives Influencing policy and decision-making

Deliver, Lead, Connect, Develop Four key performance areas in which CUBO can add value to members and the university sector as a whole: Developed by the Executive Endorsed by the membership Framework for the strategic development of CUBO Strategic and operational planning are now underway

Connecting is Key For more than 50% of members, the most beneficial aspect of CUBO membership is networking: Learning from peers / Saving time / Solving problems / Keeping up-to-date / Finding suppliers / New thinking / New ideas / Informed decisions

Connect We aim to increase connectivity within CUBO and across the sector: With a new digital platform: a leading off-the-shelf association software and new website By growing the membership to enrich the network and networking By building supplier relationships through a corporate partner scheme that brings them into CUBO By developing national and international partnerships

Develop We aim to improve learning for members and partners in all its formal and informal forms: Training in partnership with UHS Conference programmes Special interest groups and forums Networking opportunities Professional development to enhance commercial acumen at senior level and deliver an outstanding student campus experience

Deliver We aim to identify, share and champion best practice: Continuing and developing the CUBO Awards and launching the CUBO RA Awards Using the features of our new digital platform to share more case studies, knowledge and research Providing annual benchmarking and exploring research in partnership with other organisations Identifying and sharing international best practice

Lead We aim to play a stronger leadership role in higher education in the CUBO areas of strength: By leading on res life initiatives and the broad oncampus experience By leading in university commercial business By bringing our unique, multi-disciplinary, senior perspective to HE policy-making

Challenges? CUBO s multifaceted role in the higher education sector Managing our ambitions! Engaging members so that we can be sure we serve you well

Motivation I will be retiring from my post as Head of Residences at Bangor after 21 years. Over that time the CUBO conferences and message boards have been invaluable as well as a great experience. Many thanks to all those who I have met along the way. I enjoyed countless discussions and the company. It is a great organisation which is a fantastic asset and source of information and networking for us all. The next few years for the industry will be challenging and CUBO will be a crucial vehicle in moving forward. Ken Griffith, Bangor University.
