She was an elementary-education major, a member of Delta Gamma Sorority, a Gold Side cheerleader, and a member of the Women s Cross Country team. If any students, faculty, or staff wish to meet with a counselor, please call Counseling Services at 665-6245. Our sincerest condolences go out to her family and friends. Honors Digital Signage! The Honors Program now has digital signage above the Mac computers in Hill House. Instead of printing and taping signage in Hill House, all information you want displayed should be emailed to honors@montevallo.edu. Volume 2, Issue 1 Page 2 Honors Incoming Freshmen: Move-In & Orientation with Peer Mentors Honors freshmen moved in a day early this year. Afterwards, they attended Honors Orientation, where they met their peer mentors and a few Honors professors. Peer mentors and freshmen participated in team-building games, resume reflection, and ice breakers. Honors Program Website s New Look We ve redesigned the Honors webpage. The Peer Mentors assisted with Move-In Day and Honors Orientation and are planning several events for this fall such as enjoying Oak Mountain State Park, catching a play at the Red Mountain Theatre, experiencing varying forms of art at the Birmingham Museum of Art, and listening to the New Orleans Legends featuring Allen Touissant and the Preservation Hall Jazz Band at the Wright Center. Float into Fall Honors students began the semester by attending Float into Fall on Monday, August 25 at Hill House.

Student Travel Grant Application Apply online at legacy.montevallo.edu/ honors/scholarships.shtm Headed to an academic conference and don t know how to pay for it? Apply for an Honors Program Student Travel Grant. You can be awarded up to $500 for travel for conference participation. Monetary support will only be available through reimbursement after your travel is complete, and all relevant receipts must be provided with reimbursement request.
