It is a historic neoclassical house which has been registered as a "cultural heritage building" by the Ministry of Aegean and the Ministry of Culture. Built around 1870 by a well-known Greek ship owner, the residence has constituted ever since an emblem unaffected by the passage of time. Four generations of the Nomicos family have lived and prospered in Villa Oia, contributing substantially to the community in cultural and financial terms. They have all been gifted captains and ship-owners, ingenious businessmen, leading figures and benefactors of national acclaim. Over the years, distinguished guests among them, prominent politicians, prime ministers, ship-owners, international business personalities, intellectuals and family friends have enjoyed the generous hospitality of the owners. Recently Hollywood blockbusters such as Summer Lovers and Lara Croft were filmed in the surrounding area and in August 2004 the NBC network, filmed the sunset off the terrace of the villa for a morning show. THE VILLA Villa Oia is a large luxury house by island standards and comprises five levels: ground floor, first floor, terrace, Jacuzzi level and basement. (The basement, provided with bed and bathroom, can host client s service personnel or serve as luggage storing space). On the Ground Floor it features the Reception, a spacious living and dining room with superb high vaulted ceilings, 2 bedrooms with King size beds and en-suite bathrooms (one of them has also a walk-in dressing room and private veranda) and a fully equipped Kitchen. On the Upper Floor there are 2 Bedrooms with queen size beds (one of them with private balcony), 1 shared bathroom and a Kitchen attic. The Outdoor Areas offer an Outer Yard, an Inner Yard with built-in sofa and table, a private Sea View Terrace with outdoor furnishings, built-in bench, decks, heated Jacuzzi and a Day Bed

The Dining room Dine in royal style in Villa Oia dining room, or rather dining area as it is strategically located in the middle of the Living room, inner terrace and the Sea- Captain s office. The Living Room The living room is an equally gracious space with high cross-vaulted ceilings, beige textured walls, the authentic wooden floors and the large sculptured Venetian mirror. It has hosted legendary vengeras, as were called the evening parties of the era with dinner, music and dancing. Aristocratic though it may be, the living room is comfortable and cozy. It evokes a serene homely feeling, whereby the engaging pleasure of the space, takes your imagination for ride. It puts you in the mood for dancing a waltz with your partner. To keep in touch with the present, the living room is equipped with a discrete 42 flat screen 3D TV, cable TV and home cinema that facilitates independent sources like ipod, DVD s etc.
