Vera, Assistant City Manager / Service Division DATE: 7/15/2010 RE: Approval of Architectural Firms for General Architectural Services to the City. RECOMMENDATION: It is recommended that the City Commission approves the attached Resolution allowing the City Manager to enter into continuing consulting agreements with four (4) architectural firms to perform general architectural services for the City. REASONS: In an effort to streamline the architectural processes for general architectural services within the City and in order to expedite projects requiring architectural services, staff issued Request for Qualifications No. 10-04-02 for the provision of general architectural services to the City. A total of Twenty Five (25) responses were received in connection to said RFQ. However, after staff s review and evaluation of their qualifications, the following four firms are recommended: 1) Harvard Jolly Architecture; 2) Beiswenger, Hoch and Associates, Inc; 3) Bermello Ajamil & Partners, Inc; and 4) LIVS Associates. As explained above, by entering into continuing consulting agreements with the selected architectural firms, the City will be able to obtain on-call architectural services for various City projects that may arise throughout the year. Nevertheless, it is important to clarify that, prior to the delivery of such services, each firm shall submit work authorizations to the City for any architectural services to be performed.
