Step back into the Renaissance at the magnificent Villa d Este, one of the most complete expressions of Roman elegance in the 1500s. Explore the colorfully decorated interiors, extravagant gardens, and cool fountains. Savor a memorable luncheon feast at an intimate restaurant in the quiet countryside outside Tivoli. Upon your return to Rome, visit the Villa Farnesina, the Renaissance-style home belonging to papal banker Agostino Chigi. Journey to Cinecittà, the massive film studio that produced the brief-yet-brilliant neorealist film movement. Return to the city center for lunch at the American Academy of Rome.
