1 Some of the Known Descendants of Edward Chapman b. ca 1637 England [This is a draft version of a work in progress. It is thought to co ntain error and surely is not com plete.] Most of the following information was submitted by LeR oy B. C lay. 1. Edward Chapman #1530 b. Abt 1637, England, m. Elizabeth Fox #1531. Edward died Dec 19 1675. Edward was made freeman (suggests he had served some time as an endentured person) in 1667. An unpublished source says he arrived in Windsor, CT about 1660. Edward died of wounds received in the attack on the Narragausett Fort, known as the Swamp Fight. His inventory was dated February 1675/6 amounted to 184 pounds+. 61 went to his widow, Henry got 30, Simon 18 and each daughter got 15 pounds. Elizabeth was the niece of Deacon Henry Clark of Windsor. She had a child baptized after her husband's death. She married Samuel Crow in 1677. May 8 1692, Northampton, Hampshire County, MA. He was first in Windsor and then in Tolland. Was Captain of the 9th Conn. Co. at Siege of Louisburg 1745/46 and was subsequently killed in the French War in Tolland. Elijah died Feb 22 1812. He was deacon of the church in Tolland and represented the town in the legislatures of 1765, 776, 1781 andd 1782. Perhaps her name was Sarah Ruth Steele.
