2 StateGeoCadastre: Overview State Service of Ukraine for Geodesy, Cartography, and Cadastre: Managed by the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine via Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine StateGeoCadastre is mandated to implement government policy in the matter of topography, geodesy, cartography, land management, state land cadastre and land protection 25 regional offices (in each oblast) 10 000 employees 1600 cadastral officers State-owned entities: 28 topography enterprises, 27 land management institutes, and State Land Cadastre Centre

It will ensure: Simultaneous updating of geospatial data Timely access to the essential geospatial information Contribution to E-Government initiatives Following the best practices and integration into the EU informational system Possibility for effective governmental decision-making Timely reaction for possible emergency situations
9 What s been done and next steps Draft Law on NSDI is developed and submetted by StateGeoCadastre Launched the JICA funded Pilot Project on NSDI Prototype Established an NSDI coordination committee (ad-hoc) Approve the Law on NSDI and Cabinet Resolution for NSDI operation and maintenance Expand the results of the Pilot Project on NSDI for the whole territory of Ukraine

9 JICA NSDI Project: Overview Creation of National Spatial Data Infrastructure in Ukraine Objective: To develop NSDI system prototype for the pilot territory with possibility to expand the system to the whole territory of Ukraine. Approximate budget $2.6 mln. Duration 2 years. Partners from Ukraine: Beneficiary: State Service of Ukraine for Geodesy, Cartography & Cadastre Recipient: State Land Cadastre Centre Partners from Japan: Donor: Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) Consultants: Kokusai Kogyo, PASCO Corporation Project area: Pilot territory: Vinnytsia district (app. 1000 sq.km) NSDI Prototype area: 11 sq. km.
