DIRINGER&SCHEIDEL family-owned for four generations People, ideas and the cornerstones of our success DIRINGER & SCHEIDEL Bauunternehmung was founded by Franz Anton Diringer in 1921. Today the permanently family-run civil and construction engineering group of companies with its head office in Mannheim/Germany (70 km to Frankfurt) has about 2,100 employees and a turnover of 300 million. 1921 1946 The son-in-law Heinrich Scheidel enters the company in 1946. The extension to other fields of activities follows. Thanks to his entrepreneurial spirit the company develops to one of the most important medium-sized companies in all the sectors of civil and construction engineering in the Rhein-Neckar area immediately after the end of the war. 1969 On this solid foundation the son Heinz Scheidel, and under his leadership meanwhile the third and fourth generation of the family, is not only able to continue the business operations, but even to successfully respond in time to the rapid structural changes in the building industry. In view of an increasing concentration of companies in the building industry, one of the entrepreneurial answers is take-over instead of being taken over. By means of systematic investments and expansions of the company, the course is set for the group to henceforth establish itself even in special markets. Parallel to the realisation of numerous building activities for the industry, trade and commerce, the first own project developments are already made at the beginning of the seventies. 1973 1989 The circuit of production, improvement and processing of raw materials is closed. From now on the group disposes of an own gravel-winning plant and a plant for the production of lime sand brick, porous concrete and ready-mix concrete. The German reunification affords the opportunity to transfer the entire business activities to East Germany. At the same time, a most dynamic expansion of the own property development division takes place. The main establishment with an own administration and an own storage and maintenance yard is founded in Dessau-Roßlau and a further place of business in Leipzig follows. DIRINGER & SCHEIDEL is one of the major employers in the building and construction industry in the region between Berlin and Leipzig to this day. 2

1993 Real estate project development become an independent area of responsibility of DIRINGER & SCHEIDEL Wohn- und Gewerbebau GmbH with meanwhile 30 regular members of staff. At first ACCURATA Immobilienverwaltung GmbH and later on DIRINGER & SCHEIDEL Gebäudemanagement GmbH develop from this responsibility. On behalf of their owners both companies provide hand in hand all the administrative and technical services around the property. A further future-oriented option opens up in the building sector. DIRINGER & SCHEIDEL Rohrsanierung GmbH develops from the successive merging of four companies specialised in the rehabilitation of pipelines and sewers. Due to its large scope of activities the company disposes of the complete and complex know-how and nearly all the processing techniques for the high-tech rehabilitation of sewers and pressure pipelines. With its specialists working throughout Germany and the European countries, it has become one of the market leaders of the sector. 1996 2000 DIRINGER & SCHEIDEL Wohn- und Gewerbebau GmbH increases its activities in the service-property sector and successfully sustains its position in this future market with new living and servicing concepts. ARIVA Hotel GmbH and avendi Senioren Service GmbH, the subsidiaries developed from this, are presently operating three hotels with modern convenience two in cooperation with Best Western Germany and sixteen facilities in the sector of service-living for senior citizens as well as outpatient and stationary care. DIRINGER & SCHEIDEL successfully sustains on a growing market. About 40 percent of the personnel are meanwhile working in the service sector. Further projects of housing, commerce, hotel, nursing care as well as office or industrial buildings and plants are in planning or realization stage. Although constant investment in the state of the art technology, plant and equipment keeps us ahead in terms of hardware, our greatest good in the group remains our professionally qualified and competent staff. Their solidarity with the company ensures that almost a century of experience, knowledge, know-how and motivation has passed on to the next generation. REAL ESTATE PROJECT DEVELOPMENT A successful project development gives answers today to the requirements to the real property of tomorrow We are working daily at it. For more than two decades DIRINGER & SCHEIDEL Wohn- und Gewerbebau GmbH has been developing, planning and realising real estate projects for the industry, trade, banks and private individuals. We control the marketing of real estates with the most different types of use and volumes to commercial and private investors or self-users. And here our activities do not only range from the acquisition of appropriate land to the turnkey delivery of a real property, but do even include the development and the realisation of custom-fit operating concepts in the business sector of service properties.
