QUALIFICATIONS About PFB Architects PFB Architects, Inc. has been serving the Southeast and Midwest markets for over 70 years with offices currently in Cincinnati, Ohio, and Chicago, Illinois. PFB has multiple professionals in each office specializing in healthcare design. PFB has evolved its practice from a smaller local presence, to a national practice. We concentrate on the execution of healthcare, senior living and commercial projects ranging in size from single commissions, to large master planning, as well as long term commercial and health facility clients. Coordination of reliable schedules and cost control are two very important aspects of our service package. Schedules and budget figures are reviewed and revised at the beginning of each phase to keep everyone current on costs. That helps to avoid unnecessary surprises at the end of the project.
Pre-Design Research and Programming Our experience indicates that a comprehensive pre-design analysis and program have a significant impact on the success of the project and on the efficiency of the development process. We review existing documentation/facilities and report any problematic deficiencies pertaining to code, structure, ADA, etc. Design Talent and Creative Thinking Every project has a unique set of constraints, requirements, and challenges. As creative problem solvers, it is our responsibility as to respond to project parameters, as well as develop design solutions that maximize the aesthetic, functional and economic quality of our products. We have a staff of talented designers that balance creative imagination with practical experience and technical expertise. At PFB Architects we view the role of the Architect as a team leader and project manager. The success of our work can be evaluated in terms of the effective management of each project. FORT MITCHELL BAPTIST CHURCH Fort Mitchell, Kentucky Construction Cost: $3,625,000 Size: 29,000 sf The Fort Mitchell Baptist Church Project has been designed with the input from the Fort Mitchell Baptist Church Building Committee. The project has as it s goals, three main objectives: 1. Create a new image for the church along Dixie Highway, the primary façade exposed to vehicular traffic. The image was to contemporary, yet convey the traditional values of the church. 2. Create a new and better entry sequence from parking to sanctuary. This sequence was to include construction of a new addition that would allow space for gathering and assembly of the congregation before and after services. Literally the committee wishes for a return to the opportune meeting on the church steps. 3. Renovate the interiors and expand the capacity for the main sanctuary and lower level fellowship hall. The interiors of the existing 1979 facility needed to be updated, and the desire for a traditional center aisle in the main sanctuary was expressed.
ST. ALEXIUS CHAPEL Hoffman Estates, Illinois Construction Cost: $3,000,000 Size: 2,300 sf The new St. Alexius Chapel and meditation garden addition was designed to support the Alexian Brother s mission of healing the whole patient. Existing defined spaces in the Emergency Department were upgraded by installing new surfaces and finishes to include partitions, doors, floor coverings, ceiling grid and tiles, paint, casework fabrication and installation, and minor plumbing fixture relocations. This project converts the existing spaces to result in relocated and/or refitted open treatment bays (x3), exam room (x1), doctor s changing room, Medical Director s office, other small offices and the new Chapel.
CHRIST CHURCH Glendale, Ohio Construction Cost: $1,000,000 Size: 28,000 sf PFB Architects, Inc. was charged with creating additions and alterations to a historic traditional church that had a contemporary addition added in the sixties. PFB Architects, Inc. chose to restore existing spaces into new uses respecting the character and history of the existing building. When new spaces were created within close proximity to the sixties addition PFB Architects, Inc. used the sixties design vocabulary to guide the aesthetics of the additions. The project included renovating existing space to create a new chapel. The project included the historic renovation of the Olivia building.
GUARDIAN ANGELS CHURCH Cincinnati, Ohio Construction Cost: $8,000,000 Size: 20,000 sf Programming, planning and schematic design was provided to Guardian Angels Church to meet the long term needs of the parish and elementary school. Identified needs include new athletic facilities, new academic facilities, additional storage capabilities, new meeting rooms, new gathering space preceding and proceeding worship, and additional office space. The project includes a major reorganization of the site parking and circulation as well as the reorganization of all athletic facilities.
GOOD NEWS CHURCH OF GOD IN CHRIST Cincinnati, Ohio Construction Cost: $2,000,000 Size: 7,500 sf The new 7,500 square foot addition to the existing campus of the Good News Church of God In Christ was designed to support the mission of a growing congregation, replace an obsolete existing sanctuary and enhance the aesthetics of the existing site. The new sanctuary seats 426 occupants.
BETHLEHEM TEMPLE APOSTOLIC CHURCH Cincinnati, Ohio Construction Cost: $3,500,000 Size: 35,000 sf The new 35,000 square foot sanctuary and office addition to the existing campus of Bethlehem Temple Apostolic Church was designed to support the mission of a growing congregation, replace an obsolete existing sanctuary and enhance the aesthetics of the existing site. The new domed sanctuary structure is designed to accommodate 3,000 occupants for a church service by utilizing an amphitheater seating design. The existing church offices were relocated to the new office center located in the sanctuary building allowing church operations to function on site.
NEW HOPE CHURCH Fairview Park, Ohio Construction Cost: $1,000,000 Size: 15,000 sf New Hope Church purchased a vacant retail strip center and PFB Architects planned a renovation of the building to be the renovated home of New Hope Church. The 15,000 square foot sanctuary and office renovation will triple the capacity of the former home of the Church and allow the congregation to grow to a size never experienced by the church before.
