There is no match required by Nye County. Complete description of requested action: (Include, if applicable, background, impact, long-term commitment, existing county policy, future goals, obtained by competitive bid, accountability measures) The proposed project consists of drilling and connecting a new municipal well to the existing water distribution system that services the community approximately two (2) miles NW of the Town of Gabbs, Nevada. The groundwater source of supply currently exceeds the State Drinking Water Secondary Standard Maximum Contaminant Level (MCL) of 2.0 mu for fluoride. Fluoride levels in the town municipal well are currently 2.5 mg/l. The new well is needed to comply with the drinking water standard. Through sponsorship of Commissioner Wichman an application was submitted to NDEP for consideration. The next DWSRF board meeting will be held in September at which time the County will present the project in anticipation of receiving a principle forgiveness loan for the above mentioned project.
