Alma Tower Pilotow 10 31-462 Krakow http://wwwalmatowercom/en/ The axis of Pilotów street, directed towards north-east, is closed by a group of tall residential buildings To the south Młyńska street acts as a crucial arterial route leading to Jana Pawła II street and to the node with Meissnera street, The Alma Tower is particularly well exposed from the above-mentioned sides and serves with its 14 storeys as an orientation point within urban space In its relatively ascetic form, a number of corner fragments have been cut out from the overall structure, arranging the resulting new open spaces as terraces gardens The intention was to humanise the working space but also to use them for business meetings, as they provide interesting views of the city s skyline The conscious choice of architectural detail on the facades diluting the rhythm of vertical divisions between individual windows renders the structure light and opening towards the sky Green, as a friendly hue, has been selected as the colour for solid walls and glass Public access unknown! Europe-Far East Gallery M Konopnickiej 26 30-302 Krakow http://edwmangghapl/ The architectural concept design of the Europe-Far East Gallery was created by Ingarden & Ewý The designer's idea was that the calm and simple form of the building should make no direct reference to the architectural tradition of any of the Far Eastern or European countries Non-dominant and minimalistic, the form of the Gallery make its interior a space favourable to the display of various examples of the old and modern art of the Far East The building comprises exhibition rooms, a small conference room for readings, presentations and lectures on Far Eastern topics, and also rooms for specialists and storage spaces The exhibition rooms on the first and second floors are of similar size - over 260 square metres each; they provide opportunities for the flexible display of diverse forms of art, both traditional and modern The designers have also made it possible to use the lobby for exhibition purposes Project is public! 2014 Ingarden & Ewy Architekci pkrajewski_pl http://wwwmimoaeu/users/iryna/guides/krakow/ 5
Angel City Szlak 50 31-153 Krakow The Angel City complex was completed in the city centre, in the direct vicinity of the Krakow University of Technology Previously, the plot has been a highly degraded space, used by the Polish railways An important conceptual decision was to continue the historical character of the streets, generated by the rhythm of tenement houses' facades This line of thinking is stressed by the vertical divisions of the new buildings Their tectonics are constructed eg by the incremented overhangs of facade fragments, drawing on historical bay windows An important point of reference was the Krakow University of Technology campus, so the authors decided to introduce ceramic material as the finishing of facade for all buildings This way the form of the structures as a means of influencing the character of public space was highlighted photo: Stanis?aw De?ko Project is not public!
