Innovation Convertible Spaces Movable joinery that increase living space by 70% Individual buildings tend to be part of a much larger system and the broader context needs to be understood in order to respond intelligently and effectively. At the core of Rothelowman s approach is the belief that sustainable design is multi-faceted and should consider social and economic viability as well as environmental factors. To ensure sustainability measures are properly considered, Rothelowman projects are evaluated during the design and documentation phases by a specialist in-house team. In addition to internal reviews, the firm supports the assessment of projects with industry rating tools and is fully conversant with the methodologies that the various assessment tools require. Rothelowman works closely with clients and specialist consultants to define benchmarks for the environmental performance of projects, ensuring sustainability objectives remain achievable and consistent with other stated project parameters. Accredited by the National Centre for Sustainability, Rothelowman is also a member of the Green Building Council of Australia. As architects, urban planners and interior designers, we have a responsibility to pro-actively uphold the integrity of our social, economic and environmental contexts. We believe a common sense, first principles, approach to design and planning is by far the most effective way to deliver meaningful outcomes. Chris Hayton Principal and Director of Sustainability Our Practice 27
