The Rotary Club of Euroa The Rotary Club of Euroa District 9790 Club 18274 Chartered October 12 1946 Eurota July 2014 President: John Heal Secretary: Michael Bell No: 4 Manon arrived home last night our time safe and sound after a long flight. The Rotary Club of Euroa meets every Thursday at the Euroa Golf Club Golf Course Rd Euroa. Meeting Time 6pm for 6.30 Start. Apologies Noel O Meara 57952783 The Program for this week is a Debate between Benalla and Euroa Secondary College The Chairperson : Brian Bamford. Sergeant: Bernie O Dea President John in the Chair. Club Assembly. President John put to the Club the possibility of supporting a long term project contributing perhaps $50,000. Suggestions were to the Hospital, or heating of the Euroa Pool. We were broken up into groups to have valuable discussion. A spokes person then gave a report. Neville: Suggestion came after working out an income stream, Ride the Ranges,$7000, Farmers Market $6000, Show and Shine $6000, Trailer raffle $8000. At the Hospital to have a Rotary garden. A Rotary information centre at the market, brochures printed of information that can be handed to real estate agents, shire and the public. Brian Bamford: To re invest in a community fund, pool the money into a charitable Trust for a project for the town. Build a bridge from the football Club to the tennis club.
Richard McGeehan, informed the club that a heated pool at the Hospital will never happen. On the Euroa pool the replacement value of the pool is about 2 Million, an investment of $100,000 in solar heating and covering the toilets should result in doubling the people using the pool. Mandy; to have an international project where many clubs can participate. It was also suggested that Polly McQuinns and Gooram Falls could be upgraded. There was a discussion about dinner fees and the need to keep costs down. It is expensive to have a dinner meal each week, and it is perhaps why we do not have younger people joining the Club. Peter Morley suggested we should look outside the square and we need to change. It was considered that meals by many of the members needed to be subsidised. At present money is taken each week for Polio Plus, rent and paying for guests. Next year there will be a new range of venues available, and a can of beer may be $3.00 Farmer s Market July 2014 Market Roster Stall Holder co-ordinator: Helen Brook Team 3.
