SALE OF LANDS FOR TAX ARREARS This package represents the information concerning properties in Haldimand County, which are being sold under The Municipal Act 21 Tax Sale process. Please review the information carefully. Tender A tender shall be in Form 7 and shall be, typewritten or legibly handwritten in ink; accompanied by a deposit of at least 2 per cent of the tender amount, which deposit shall be made by way of money order or by way of bank draft or cheque certified by a bank or trust corporation, payable to Haldimand County; submitted in a sealed envelope which indicates on it that it is a tax sale and provides a short description or municipal address of the land sufficient to permit the treasurer to identify the parcel of land to which the tender relates; and addressed to the treasurer. A separate tender is required for each property, with a separate envelope and Form 7. Haldimand County has envelopes and Form 7 available for the tender at our Cayuga Administration Office or on our website at www.haldimandcounty.on.ca. The treasurer will retain the two highest tenders. The highest tender will be notified by mail, that within 14 days of the mailing of the notice, the balance of the amount tendered, the applicable land transfer tax and the accumulated taxes are paid, in cash or money order or bank draft or certified cheque, to the treasurer. If the highest tender does not make the payment, the deposit will be forfeited, and the 2 nd highest bidder will be the successful tenderer. The new successful bidder will have 14 days to comply as outlined above.
