Background Partnership between School District 181 ( SD 181 ) and Village of Hinsdale Strategic planning commenced in 2015 regarding parking solution in Central Business District ( CBD ) Subsequent referendum; approved November 2016 Since this time, Village has been working with SD 181 s architect regarding a parking deck design

Staff Parking Garage Size Recommendations Reduce Parking Occupancy in High Demand Areas during Peak Utilization Period to 85% occupancy (CMAP goal). Assess Current retail and office vacancy and Project Future Parking Needs (potential for higher intensity usage). Assess Current Parking Vacancies and Usage. Determine Future Alternative Uses (valet use, commuter use etc)

On-Street Parking Availability Peak Parking Demand Area is Garfield to Lincoln and Hinsdale Ave to Second Street. 383 Spaces within the peak parking demand area. Peak Parking Utilization Period is 10:00 A.M. to 2:00 P.M. Monday thru Friday. Parking Utilization Area is 100% occupied during that time. To meet the CMAP goal of 85% parking occupancy means opening up 57 parking spaces.
