Centro Storico, Rome Via dei Prefetti is a gloriously designed, luminous aerie in Rome's Centro Storico, the perfect location for days touring and tasting your way across this compelling city. The location is ideal - equidistant to multiple points on virtually any axis of interest: architecture, art, history, food, shopping and of course gelato. One of our favorite museums is the Capitoline: art & archeological museums on top of the Capitoline Hill. We can suggest several of the best food tour guides- the hard part is picking which tour.
OVERVIEW Via dei Prefetti is a gloriously designed, luminous aerie in Rome s Centro Storico, the perfect location for days touring and tasting your way across this perennially compelling city. The location is ideal equidistant to multiple points on virtually any axis of interest: architecture, art, history, food, shopping and of course gelato. From Via dei Prefetti you can get to the Pantheon in the sacred hush of early morning when the building is at its most serene. The Campo dei Fiori market -- and more importantly the Antico Forno in the corner behind the flower stand -- is an engaging stroll of 16 minutes presuming you do not window shop, admittedly very difficult in Rome. You can wander out to the Spanish Steps late at night for an overloaded cone piled with one of twenty chocolate gelato variations at Il Gelato. But it is coming back to Via dei Prefetti that makes your stay in Rome different from any other visit. This elegant, spacious apartment is beautifully appointed, appealing in every sense and perfectly well-equipped for modern day vacationers. The size is ideal -- comfortable for eight in four lovely double rooms. Up to three couples can enjoy the space together. Well-behaved, supervised children with families are welcome as well. A la Carte cooking services are available if you don t feel likes dining out, yet all of Rome is at your feet. The outdoor spaces a long balcony running along the south façade of the building and shaded with a retractable awning, lets you sit out morning and night -- directly from your bedroom. An expansive terrace off the dining room means you can enjoy Rome s nearly ideal climate more or less nine months a year. The style of the interiors guided by the owners impeccable taste is light and contemporary with the right touch of warmth and charm. The result is a stunning pied-à-terre in one of Italy's most vibrant cities and something very much worth sharing. And so it is at Via dei Prefetti. The property is available for a minimum of three night rentals, facilitating comfortable stays in Rome s 'centro storico' for larger groups who want the space, privacy, comfort and services of a fine hotel.
