why you ll like it In a striking building set unusually well back from the coast road, the grand entrance is on a quiet side street, and has a seashell worked in plaster above it. Controlled by a secure entry system, the front door opens into a stylish hallway with a lift to your right and the door to this apartment directly ahead of you. Inside, the apartment has been beautifully designed in two parts, with luxurious living and entertaining space at the front of this home, making the most of the sea views, and the double bedrooms tucked away in a separate "wing", ensuring both privacy and peace. Period features abound in this large apartment, which spans the entire ground floor, and which include human heads and lions above the doorways. The hall ceiling is high above your head, and the burnished parquet floor invites you through a tall glass door to your right, which opens into an inner hall where the height and wooden floor continue throughout and into a magnificent reception room, which would have been two rooms originally, but has been knocked through with an ingenious wall of glass between the two parts, so you can make the space more intimate should you prefer. The current owners love the sea so much that they use the front portion of the room, as a bedroom, which works well and which has three floor to ceiling windows following the curve of the front, flooding the room with light and bringing in blissful views of the sea from the Marina to the Pier. On the left is an elegant tiled fireplace with delicately carved marble surround and a decorative original cornice is above both rooms. The rear portion of the room, used as a private sitting room, is generously proportioned and has large west facing windows looking over to Brighton Pier and a pillared fireplace to your left. Opposite is a glamorous kitchen diner which achieves a perfect balance between retaining the integrity of this period building whilst accommodating the needs of modern day living, with very luxurious touches! The bespoke kitchen is in fashionable tones of stone and wood with gleaming composite stone work surfaces and LED lighting beneath the units. All of the appliances are integrated and are top of the range, including a sleek NEFF electric induction hob and AEG microwave and oven thoughtfully placed in a tower. The dining area is separated from the main kitchen by a raised breakfast bar, and has an iridescent marble and gilt fireplace to the left, beautiful cornicing and a ceiling rose overhead, whilst ahead two graceful windows look across to the seafront and French doors open onto the private balcony which has sensibly been partly enclosed with glass. Returning to the front hall, opposite the front door is a luxurious shower room, which also has plumbing for a washing machine and there is a door to your left opening into a private inner lobby. The master bedroom suite is to your right, which is a light and airy room, but its situation within the building also makes it extremely quiet and private. The walk in wardrobe is an L shape, with sophisticated hanging and shelving and the en suite is very large, with a contemporary white suite and walk in shower with a dual heads. The second double bedroom is along the west side, with lovely views of the pier, and also has a spacious walk in wardrobe and glamorous en suite bathroom.
Outside, the sun terrace steps up to the spacious lawn to follow the sun and there is a beautiful paved area on this level, ideal for sophistiated al fresco dining. owners secret "There is something very restful about sitting on the balcony at the end of the day and watching the sea and the lights of the pier." bear in mind Ground floor apartments of this quality do not come onto the market very often-and this one is chain free!
