We specialise in residential alterations, additions, renovations and new construction as well as retail, industrial, commercial and interior design. He is a British qualified architect with over 15 years of broad International experience gained in the UK, South Africa and Australia. This spans from large scale commercial developments to small residential schemes with involvement in all stages from concept design to construction project management. Andy has also been involved in urban and interior design projects as well as those requiring adaptive reuse of heritage listed buildings. Committed to high standards of design, Andy is keen to explore new and original forms of architectural language. He also has a realistic and practical view of the industry and recognises the balance between design aspirations and build ability in the context of successful project delivery. process 1. Pre-Design Site visit and initial analysis Establish project brief and initial budget parameters Discuss council's regulations and required consultants Fee and scope of works proposal provided to client 2. Concept/Sketch design Site visit. Building measure for alterations & additions only Photographic analysis of site and surrounds Engage surveyor to prepare a detailed survey plan in accordance with council's requirements Review Council s requirements and controls including any site specific constraints (heritage conservation area, foreshore area, bushfire prone land etc) Prepare concept design based on client s brief and council s requirements Meet with client to present proposals for review and feedback Prepare final sketch design inc. required plans, elevations and sections for client approval 3. Development Application (DA) / Complying Development Certificate (CDC) Prepare required architectural documentation to Council standard Engage and liaise with all required consultants Submit above documentation and additional consultants documents to approving body (Council (DA, CDC) or Private Certifier (CDC) Correspond and meet with approving body as required during application process. 4. Construction Certificate (CC) Review council's development consent Engage principal certifying authority (either council or private certifier) to seek construction consent Engage and liaise with all required consultants Prepare required architectural documentation to Council standard
Submit above documentation and additional consultants documents to approving body (council (CC) or private certifier (CC) Correspond with principal certifying authority as required during application process. 5. Tender documentation / construction Submit required documentation to builders for tender pricing. This can be based on CC documentation alone or with additional documents as required. Review tender returns with client and value engineer as required. Prepare additional detailed documentation for construction. Level of documentation is client and project specific.
