All entries will be judged by a common jury of distinguished guests connected to all facets of the design profession. The awards ceremony will be held on Friday 11.14.14. Winners will be announced at the CDA Eighteen awards ceremony at the Contemporary Arts Center in downtown Cincinnati. Number of awards in any category is subject to the discretion of the jury eligibility The submitting firm must have a local office actively involved in the project and be a current member of the organization to which they are submitting an entry. Non-members may submit at a non-member rate. The submitting firm must be the Deisgner of Record, responsible for the overall design of the project concept. Submissions by design teams and joint ventures shall be eligible for the member fee only when the Designer of Record is a local member. Projects must have been completed after 01.01.2009. The completed Call for Entry must be received at the AIA Cincinnati Chapter Office on or before 09.30.2014; All entry fees must be paid in full at that time.
submittal requirements All entries must be purchased and submitted online: There are two separate deadlines. You must register with your entry fee to receive a number assignment in order to submit your project by the final DEADLINE. entry deadlines -Friday, September 30th @ 5:00pm Entry Fee and Number Assignment -Friday, October 27th @ 5:00pm Submittal Form and Hightail Upload digital submittal Download slide templates, Project Information and Project Description forms from aia.org website. All are to be completed and included with your submittal. Each submittal shall include a solely digital copy, as follows: A. Fifteen (15) digital drawings, graphics, and photographs (maximum). Download the template with 16 PowerPoint slides. The cover slide should only be modified to include your entry number. On the remaining 15 slides, place your project images in the order you wish for them to be seen. You will be solely responsible for the results of your images on the templates. Images must not reveal the names of the entrant and/or architects, firms, other designers, or photographers. Please do not put project entry numbers on the images. Project imagery should contain a combination of drawings and photos that provides the jury a complete understanding of the project including its details and its larger context, as applicable. For un- entries, images should adequately convey the intent and purpose of the project. Label the PowerPoint presentation: Entry Number_Category. For example, if your entry number is A-123 for the Built Work category, label the PPT as A-123_Built Work. B. Four (4) images of your choosing for use during the Awards Banquet. Download the template with 4 PowerPoint slides in addition to the 16 described in Section A. Place your images into the 4 slide templates in the order you wish for them to be seen. These slides will be used as an overview of the project during the reception portion of the event. Label this PowerPoint presentation: Entry Number_Reception (e.g., A-123_Reception). Each of the images for A and B will be shown through PowerPoint at a screen resolution of 1024x768. Prior to inserting into PowerPoint, images should be sized approximately to 1024x768, compressed to 150 dpi and saved in JPEG file format. Upload your Project Information and Project Description Form along with your digital submittal A and B to the Hightail link provided with your entry fee and number assignment receipt. Confirmation will be provided to you. Items must be received by deadline date, no exceptions. Any missing information results in disqualification.
