The Will is signed Michael Lambart There are three witnesses but the names of two are unintelligible, the remaining one is Leonard Strouse who was the only one that appeared at the Probate when letters were granted to the son Nicholas. Generation 6 HANS MICHAEL LAMPART, as his name appears on the "List of Foreigners Imported in the Ship Brittania, Capt. Thomas Arnot, from Rotterdam,Qualified September 28, 1764." (Penna. Archives, Second Series. Vol.XVII, page 463) On this List also appear the names, Gottfried Lampardt, Georg Lambarth. These same names appear in the List of the 260 passengers on the Brittania, given in Prof. Daniel Ruppís, ìcollection of Thirty Thousand Names of German, Swiss, Dutch, French and Other Immigrants to Pennsylvania, from 1737 to 1778,î Pages 359 and 360. Tradition relates that Michael Lambert first settled in Tinicum Township, Bucks County but we do not find him in the tax lists of that Township which are extant from 1779, but a Michael Lambert is taxed in Windsor Township York County, in 1779 and 1780; in the first for one cow, and in the latter for 75 acres, 2 horses and 2 cows. (Pa. Ar. Vol.21, pp 39 & 230) In the tax lists for Tinicum in 1782 Michael Lambert is taxed for 3 horses and 3 cows, in 1783 Michael Lambertís estate amount of tax. In 1784 Michael Lambert - 1 outhouse & 7 white inhabitants. (Pa. Ar. 2ndseries, Vol. 13 pp 255, 379, 466, 544.) In the tax lists of Tinicum for 1786 & 1787 the name of Michael Lambert does not appear. It appears in the Census of 1790 in Bucks County as having one male over 16 and 6 under 16 and 5 females. As Michael Lampart he appears in the tax list of 1785, 1786, 1787 in Bedminster Township, Bucks County; he also appears in Tinicum Township as Michael Lamport 1787. (Pa. Arc. May 11 1893 ------------ John Michael Lambert, with his wife Rosina Strauss daughter of John Lenard Strauss and his wife (Philipina?)Christina settled in Tinicum Township., Bucks County,Pennsylvania. not later than 1776. They moved to Windsor Township., York County, Pennsylvania. and returned to Tinicum,Bucks Co previous to April 28, 1782. It is not known now whether their first son was born in Bucks County or in York County, Pennsylvania. but Christian, the second son, and the daughter Barbara Ann were born in Windson(r?) York County, Pennsylvania. the last named was there baptised, Frederich Lambert and his wife Barbara Ann being the sponsors. Who this Lambert family was is not known. He might have been an uncle to John Michael Lambert. At the present time 1893, there are no Lamberts In Windsor, York County, a. but there are some in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania., but through lack of interest on the part of some people I was unable to find any relatives from the other two brothers so far. John Michael Lambert had 13 children, the nine younger ones were born in Tinicum, Bucks County Previous to 1804 he moved with his family to Nockamixon Township, Bucks County The church record there shows that he and other members of his family communed there. John Michael Lambert was of small stature and had red hair, and so far as the writer knows nearly all of his descendents are of small stature but stout built. He died of consumption in the year 1826 was buried in the Nockamixon Cemetery and was therefore 82 yrs. of age. His wife Rosina survived him 5 yrs. She lived with their oldest son Nicholas Lambert in Williams Township, Northampton County, Pennsylvania. near Raubsville. She died in the year 1831 and was buried in the Durham Cemetery Bucks County Her age was not given. Final settlement was made by the oldest son Nicholas Lambert on the 11th day of Dec., 1827. The amount was as follows- "Dr. $619.671 Ω Cr. $360.611 º Balance on hand 259.05 Ω." So it was recorded in the office at Doylestown Bucks Co, Pennsylvania. Page 4 of 10

John Michael Lambert Garrweiler consists of fifteen or twenty houses in the northern part of the Black Forest section of Germany in what was the Kingdom of Wurttemburg (Stuttgard is the capital). Wurttemberg is the so- called"schwoweland" Swabia, bounded east by Bavaria, west by Baden, south by Switzerland, north by Baden and Bavaria.
