The International Performance Association (IPA) is an expanding network of process oriented artists, devoted to cultural awareness through the professional practice of performance art. IPA strives to provide a platform for such artists from all over the globe to exchange ideas and incite progress in the world of performance art. Since 2006, we have formed a series of workshops, performance festivals and meetings that encourage the development of participants artistic endeavors. Until the IPA Summer in 2017 in The Hague, 401 artists from 42 different countries have taken part in the IPA Summer. Like the years prior, the IPA Summer will in two weeks afford the participants with opportunities to make life long connections through the investment of performance art. In the week after the workshops a Festival for Young Performance Artists will take place, where some of the participants of the workshops have the possibility to present their performances to a broader audience and to meet with other young artists from the region. In general, we invite about 30-40 participants from all over the world. We offer two or three groups of workshops, which are led by internationally recognized artists. We try to offer the workshops and accommodation as cheaply as possible. Our target group are young artists who are on their way to professionalism. The last years we charged between 250,- to 400, - for the workshop fee, including dinner and accommodation for 2 weeks! Until today we never had financial support for these events beside the fees of the participants.
